The Mana-Verse

Pema's mind flashed back to Doll Master's grizzly murder with Riagan's last statement. "I don't think anyone is doubting your... strength, Mr. Riagan. We know what you're capable of..."

Her gaze was averted from him as she spoke, and idly poked at one of the gems on her staff.

[Sakura Leic]

"And that's why I don't feel I need to have my hammer imbued with elemental energy.  I've lived in cold temperatures and have been around the smithies enough to know what happens to metal when it gets cold.  I hit it, and it breaks." Riagan folded his arms, confident in his strength.

He looked to Sakura and Calien. "I feel your magic abilities blind you to the strength that us laypeople possess.  I may not have magic, but I can assure you that I am not weak."

"Ummm why would Alberta make a Construct that uses Cold that is vulnerable to Cold?" Sakura pointed out "That makes no sense, I don't think he would be stupid enough to do something like that."

"I'm just going by my own experience before I was forced expanded on my Magic, because of my own ineffectiveness using brute strength alone on the previous Master I faced." Calien sighed "I certainly don't doubt your strength at all, but Sakura just wanted to help.  We meant no offense."

((All my playing Hyrule Warriors has made my brain start putting together a Mana-verse version of Dynasty Warriors (HW being a Zelda version for those not in the know). X.X ))

Although, personalty wise, a bit so-so. So it's very much appearance alone.)

(Well the problem is most of the characters use Magic or at least a strict Warrior of some sort so he doesn't really fit anywhere.  Best I got is the most unexpected Lethal Joke Character in the Zelda Universe to show up in that game since to be honest the Prof  is  kind of a Lethal Joke Character of awesome to me.

Agitha, Insect.....Princess?   

That is literally what she's called.  She uses a Parasol and summons bugs.

Also Toshi is probably Ruto in fighting style....maybe.)

"Indeed. If one were to make metal constructs to control ice and snow, one would most likely use some form of enchantment to increase the resistance to the cold or a specially-treated metal." Shuu added, tapping his armor. "Like the metal my armor is made of."

"Then I will just have to hit it harder," Riagan gave a stern nod.

The Professor glanced at his bag for a moment as he considered the items he had stored away.  Of course his simple wooden staff would be of no use--he only grabbed it for use as a melee weapon--so most of his fighting would be dependent on his many concoctions.  "Well, I, I, I suppose that m-my explosives will suffice, yes?  If I, if I, if I knew what they were constructed of, I could determine a proper mode of attack..."

"Nature denotes that someone or something that thrives in the cold wouldn't like the heat." Shuu added, thinking a moment before sighing. "Which means I may have to use HIM in this fight..."

[Sakura Leic]

"Then I will just have to hit it harder," Riagan gave a stern nod.

"Yeah the Explody stuff should work just fine." Sakura nodded "And maybe if there's enough wreckage you can study the materials.  Maybe Daddy or I can chop off an arm or Riagan can bust a leg or something."

"The dangerous one?" Sakura gulped.

"Yeah... The dangerous one..." Shuu sighed, removing his helmet to rub his temples. "Well, he's not so much dangerous as he is an ass. When he DOES cooperate, he becomes either an axe that's too big for me to wield or a tiny knife that is literally almost too hot to handle."

It was at that point an unfamiliar (to the group) voice came from one of Shuu's tablets. "Aw... No need to be telling your new friends about how you're barely worthy to wield me, Sapphire Knight." The voice said in a condescending tone. "I'll behave, so long as the local tribe stays out of my field of vision."

[Sakura Leic]

"So what's your name?" Sakura asked politely "I'm Sakura."

[Sapphire Knight]

"Feh! You yamkin and your need for names. Only Lordes can give us Zotokin* true names." The voice scoffed. "But if you must call me something, my 'gonsol' calls me 'Hellhound'."

Shuu sighed, rubbing his temples more. "It's the only thing he'd respond to, as he is a dog daemon and the territory he comes from is a fiery cave deep under ground." The knight explained, putting his helmet back on. "And his territory's Lorde is named Hades, so it seemed to fit."

[*Zotokin means 'full life' as is what daemons call themselves.
And yes, only daemon lordes can bestow a true name to any daemons, most daemon lordes having received their names from the previous lorde of their home territory.]

Riagan didn't respond, as he was concentrating on the battle to come and his task.

The Professor heard the additional voice, but didn't hear what it said.  He froze where he stood, his eyes wide.  Finally, he looked to the others. "You, you, you all heard that voice... d-did you...?"

[Sakura Leic]

"Just another one of Shuu's Daemons." Calien replied "Seems he doesn't trust him yet and we are to refer to him as Hellhound since it seems he's a dog with a connection to Fire."

"What does Zotokin mean?" Sakura asked.

[Sapphire Knight]

"That's right, you imbeciles call us 'daemons'..." Hellhound's voice grumbled. "And why should he trust me? I am a greater daemon from the depths of a fiery hell from your worst nightmares!" As he spoke, a black, wolf-like silhouette with glowing, flaming red eyes seemed to fade into existence in the blizzard. "I am the brother of Hades! Lorde of the many Hells and one of the most powerful Lordes this or any other world has ever seen!"

"Shut it. Or do you want me to explain WHY you accepted my contract?" Shuu asked, making Hellhound go silent before the silhouette vanished.

"I hate the cold anyway..."

The Professor blinked a few times.  Shrugging, he continued through the snow.  "At least, at least that, at least that voice wasn't in m-my head..."
