NOTE: The newly implemented [youtube] button DOES NOT work.
As many of you know, there has been a
"Device Support" error, whenever an attempt was made to embed a YouTube video.
After collaborating with Quickie to alleviate the problem, a new mod was installed.
1) The [yt][/ yt] methodUsing this BBCode:
[yt]{youtube ID}[/ yt]
(minus the spacing)YouTube videos can be displayed correctly; simply add the link between both "yt" codes. However, there is a minor downside to this: When posting your link in the message body, the forum will mandate that you to add something to the message body. Essentially, the forum thinks that the body is empty, since the YouTube link, alone, does not count as a message.
All you need to do is write something in the message body after posting the YouTube video. Thus, it will no longer be "empty" and the post will go through successfully.
2) The "youtu.be" methodI have found an alternate way to post the videos. This method requires some tampering with the YouTube link url.
Let's use an example:
http: //youtu.be/KWKYpy__lfA
(minus the spacing)Instead of the usual
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= address, simply remove the
www,
.com and the
watch?v= from the address.
Lastly, change
youtube into
youtu.beThis leaves you with the quote above. And with this method, you don't have to worry about adding a message to the body.
Just post the video by itself, and it will go through successfully.
Like so:
http://youtu.be/KWKYpy__lfA
And that pretty much wraps it up. I hope the descriptions were simple enough to understand.
