Mr. Haxwell

(I'll pass on that offer. Even if I did know what to do with him.)

Fear me.

Blue Valkyrie

(I can but right now I'll be focusing on dungeons and events.))

Phi

(Sure, he should be simple enough to handle.

In some regards, he's almost like a male version of Phi.)

Blue Valkyrie

((If you don't mind that would be great.))

Quickman

((Thanks, that would be really helpful.  I'm in four other RPs on Tumblr and I'm having trouble keeping track of things.))

Fxeni

"We never ventured in this area before, so I'm afraid I don't know much more than anyone else of what is past this point," Fxeni said as he looked around at the glyphs.

Sapphire Knight

Sapph tapped his chin, looking at the hieroglyphs. "Hmm..." He held a hand in front of his chest as the crystal started to glow. After a moment, a large book materialized in his hands in red light. "Let's see..." He flipped through the large book. "Well... Some of the previous Sapphire Knights studied these, but had very little success in deciphering them." He sighed, closing the book and storing it in the crystal again.
My thread of Random Crap

Who loves Grape Soda? Sapph loves Grape Soda! Is it true? Is it true? Ohyesohyesohyes it's true-oo~ I do I do I do I do-oo~

Aya with some hesitation pushes on the door, her unique mana enters the mechanism and it begins to open rather loudly. She reaches over grabbing two of the torches from the near by walls and passing one to Riagan and the other to Fexni. "We'll need these, there is no light to speak of down here from the looks of things."

Aya began to lead to the party down the hall way, it was to narrow to allow any sort of party rank forcing them into single file. After some time they emerge in a semi large cavern, at the far end looked to be another structure it's design was similar to the door not matching the rest of the temple and was clearly other some other origin. At the center of the room was a massive hole, too large to jump and there seemed to be no other way to cross. "This--is not what I expected to find." Aya remarked.

((Lets see some problem solving everyone, this will require some teamwork; no pulling some random item or spell out our butts to solve it. I'll reward posters who use examination and problem solving skills to bypass puzzles in here.))

Sakura Leic

(So no Pema flying us over or somehow making an Ice Bridge?)
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Phi

(Perhaps we can make it that our magic doesn't work here? Because it'd be strange that we do this without even attempting to use our spells.)

Sakura Leic

(And I doubt Calien or Sakura can see some invisible path.)
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Blue Valkyrie

((Try something and I'll respond. Not spoiling anything.  8D ))

Sakura Leic

(So yeah probably no on there being an invisible path.)

Blue Valkyrie

((Examine the room more closely in character and I'll point out what is and isn't there.))

Sakura Leic

(Okay.....)

Calien and Sakura looked around carefully to see if there was something they could work with or if the people who made this temple used a sort of magic to make things invisible to the human eye.

The room was roughly rectangle in shape give or take some random rock formations, the structure across the gap oddly enough seemed to be on an angle as if some force had disturbed it's place; perhaps an earthquake? It was impossible to tell for sure from this distance.

Sakura noticed two massive pillars on their side and the far side, two had been destroyed by time or intent but one on their side and another one the far side was still standing, perhaps with the right amount of force they could be knocked over; their height was certainly enough to bridge the gap.

However as Sakura looked upward toward the pillars she noticed something above, a faint blue glow from stones embedded in the rock ceiling.

(Anyone in the party know anything about ores?)

Sakura Leic

"Hey what's that shiny thing?" Sakura asked.

(Probably Riagan or the Prof?)

Blue Valkyrie

((I'd imagine so, I'll hold off till everyone catches up and gets a chance to recommend something))

Sakura Leic

(If it involves getting the Ore I can imagine Calien can throw his boomerang at it.  Hey it works in Zelda and other games for some reason.)

Blue Valkyrie

(Sounds good, this is pretty much how puzzles in dungeons are going to work from this point on; waiting for someone to try magic still but again I'll wait till everyone chimes in))

Fxeni

"Hmm... seems to be an ore of some sort, though sadly I am not familiar with it. Any ideas Riagan?" Fxeni inquired as he looked at the ore.

His eyes went down to the pillars. He examined them, wondering how they could be of use to cross over. He made his short spear appear, and he began to write down calculations on the dirt.

Blue Valkyrie

(For who ever is controlling Riagan right now: The shards in the ceiling are Magicite, crucial for powering magitech devices. In their natural state they absorb mana and draw it into them, this makes them popular to line an area as it can mute magic users while in it's effect range. There is about three large shards that will effect the group in this room.)

Sakura Leic

(In that case Riagan wouldn't know about that and I'm not sure the Prof would either.)
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Phi

(Is Quickie still controlling Riagan?)

Pema cracked her knuckles and grabbed her staff. "Don't worry about that, guys, I can get us out!"

She aimed Salem at the massive hole and attempted to fire a spell.

...

Nothing happened.

"What the--" She tapped a finger against the gem on the staff, then aimed it forward, once again, "Ice Blast!"

...

Pema furrowed her brows and tightened her grip. "Freeze! Ice Bridge! Feel the chill! Popsicle... ization?"

Salem sighed. "Saying different things won't change the result, Pema. It would appear magic is somehow distorted, in this area. Perhaps cancelled out."

"What? Th-That's crazy... How is that even possible?" She raised an eyebrow.

Fxeni

(Oh... Fxeni could have known about that then, since he makes magitech. Maybe he just knows it in it's refined state, I guess? Oh well, I'll use that to explain it.)

"Hmm... The ores must be Magicite. I've only dealt with the refined ore, but I've heard that larger deposits can absorb mana. I don't think our magic will be of much use until we get rid of those larger deposits," Fxeni said as he looked around the room for any large deposits that might be absorbing their mana.
