The Mana-Verse

Shuu remained quiet about his beliefs and disbeliefs, Hellhound, however, was content to talk. "There's not Lorde sealed here. The Lorde that used to reside here was chased out for this temple to be built. Or talked out. The Lordes of this area never seem to be that aggressive."

"You're considerably talkative today." Susanoo's voice came. "And your mood has been shifting too."

"Can it, Cat. I'm in a good mood but it's cold."

[Blue Valkyrie]

Aya leads the party up the mountain path, as cold as it was in town the higher they get the worse the biting cold becomes; after about an hour of climbing stairs they stand before the great temple. The structure was properly massive and despite being thousands of years old was still in near perfect shape all things considered. The Doors remained sealed.

"One moment." Aya said as she placed a hand on the door channeling her mana into it. The Arcadian runes along the door's surface began to glow as Aya broke the seal and with a deafening noise the mythril gates began to slide open revealing the inner hall. Aya summoned her blade and stepped across walking forward until she stood at the center near a small crystal.

As if responding to the party's presence the torches magically lit themselves with blue fire. Aya leaned down and claimed a small shard of the crystal from bowl below and offered them to everyone. "Here--each take a shard and touch the crystal." Aya places her hand forward attuning herself to it.

[Sakura Leic]

Calien and Sakura both nodded each taking a shard and touching the crystal.

[Phi]

Pema claimed a shard from Aya, touching the crystal.

Peering her face closer to it, she presented it to Salem, "Look at how the inside sparkles and glistens. It's kinda cool, right?"

"Indeed, it certainly is." He replied.

[Mr. Haxwell]

Toshi quietly took a shard from Aya, touching the crystal with it. She didn't feel the need to ask as to what was the crystal's purpose.

Riyalie - "Can we keep it?" the eager poké-spirit blurted out in excitement near Toshi ear, causing her to twitch her eye a little, "I guess that's a no then..." she replied to Toshi's long silence.

[Blue Valkyrie]

"The shard will allow you to quickly return here should you need to, but it only works with the master crystal. But keep it if you wish, I doubt any will mind." Aya smiled.

[Sakura Leic]

(How big are those shards anyway?  Also wasn't it established that only Toshi, Calien, and Sakura can see Toshi's Pokemon in spirit form or can Aya do the same?  Unless she was just answering rhetorically. )

Shards are small enough to be pocketed.))

Toshi - "So this master crystal is actually in fact a gate crystal, and these shards we're carrying are teleport stones, right?" she suddenly asked as if she's familiar with gate crystals.

(The description oddly reminded me of Final Fantasy XII's gate crystals, and how they function.)

((Big difference though is it that it's just the temple, other ruins with the system are the same.))

(Yeah I'd say it functions more like the teleporters in Zelda.)

Fxeni took one of the shards and touched the crystal. He quietly pocketed the shard and looked around the room.

[Blue Valkyrie]

The room is built to hold literally hundreds of worshipers at once, there is a podium far above the ground level for where a priest would preach. The stairs to the side of podium seem lead deeper inside.

As the others did, Shuu took a shard and touched it to the crystal. "I wonder what the range on these are, in case we ever have to come back to the temple for some reason..."

[Phi]

"Maybe try holding it outside a window or knock it against something, to get better reception?" Pema pondered aloud.

"Right... Let's see what Aya thinks." Salem stated.

[Blue Valkyrie]

"Sadly it won't work over a great distance outside this temple but in any place within the grounds even down below it'll return us to this very point basically it can be a way to retreat to the surface if we need to rest or escape. I imagine the living areas up above are quite safe, I recommend we use them as a base for the moment." Aya shook her head lightly to the question.

The Professor picked up a shard and was about to touch the crystal with it, but stopped.  He looked to Aya for a moment.  He didn't hear the explanation due to the bad acoustics of the temple. "What, what will happen if, if, if I do this?"

"Your mana will attune to the mother crystal here, then if you use the smaller slave crystal you can teleport back to this point at any time within this temple, we used to use networks like this in our cities this is merely a simple version of that."
