The Mana-Verse

(Oh I forgot to mention the Magicite was on the ceiling so Riagan can't reach it.  Sorry.)

"Magicite... Well, that explains it. My armor's powered by magic." Shuu said, still motionless. "Um... Please don't bump into me. It'd be uncomfortable to fall over."

[Quickman]

((He jumped and swung really high with his hammer at the lowest-hanging of them all.  And the piece was a teeny one. >.> ))

[Sakura Leic]

(I'm pretty sure they're all hanging above the giant hole......)

[Quickman]

((Riagan is nearly 6 ft tall.  His reach without a hammer is about 3 ft.  If he stands on his tip-toes, he could touch a 9 ft ceiling.  His hammer is 6 ft long.  Holding it at the end gives him a 9 ft reach.  If he holds it above his head and stands on his tip-toes, he would be able to reach a nearly-20 ft ceiling.))

"I think I just need one more hit thanks to that." Calien said as he threw his boomerang one more time.  The last Magicite Ore fell down the hole out of sight.

Sakura tried her sword again and it finally started to work.

"Finally!" Sakura cheered.

"Okay one problem solved, now we just need to find a way to get across." Calien stated.

[Quickman]

Riagan looked at the chunk that he had knocked down.  It was a fair-size stalactite, but it wasn't long enough to cross the chasm.  With a grunt, he pushed it into the pit.  Looking over his shoulder, he shouted to the Professor.  "Fae!  You have any rope on you?"

The Professor finally stopped obsessing over the hieroglyphs and walked over to the group. "N-no, I don't.  However, however I do have a flash-bomb..."

He dug around in his bag and produced a vial.  Uncapping it, he lit the short fuse with his torch and tossed it into the pit.  It fell a short distance before exploding in a bright light, enough to illuminate the walls of the pit for a few moments.

The flash from the bomb illuminated the hole a bit but they still couldn't see the bottom.

"That's a really deep hole." Sakura remarked.

Calien looked to the pillar next to them and looked at the length.  It seemed long enough to bridge the gap between them and the hole.

"Riagan do you think you can break that pillar to make a bridge?" Calien asked.

(I mean the hole has to be really deep for the Magicite to not absorb Mana anymore.)

[Blue Valkyrie]

Aya moved toward the one remaining pillar on their side. "You know if we could knock this down it might bridge the gap." Aya remarked.

((No one remembers the OOT Shadow Temple's last area?  ))

(That's what I was saying, besides the only thing I remember about the Shadow Temple was the Hover Boots and Mind Fucks everywhere.)

[Quickman]

((No, I don't remember it very well.))

Riagan walked over the inspect the pillar.  Giving a nod, he motioned for everyone to step back as he raised his hammer.  With a strong swing, he smashed the point of his hammer against the base of the pillar, chopping at it like a tree.  Pieces of flew off with each chop as he dug a hole into it.

[Sapphire Knight]

Shuu slowly started moving again, summoning Grani in the form of a massive blade. "Riagan, step aside please. I'll get it in one strike." He said, getting into a stance that looked like he was getting ready to do an overhead swing.

[Sakura Leic]

(.......Why would you use an overhead swing......?)

[Sapphire Knight]

[Diagonal downward slash to make sure it falls towards the pit rather than away from it.]

[Quickman]

Riagan took notice of Shuu's position and held up a hand. "No!  Your form will just crack the pillar and we'll lack a proper bridge!  Have you ever been in a mine?  Have you ever trained in masonry?  Judging by your vocation, I think not!"

With that, he returned to his careful work.

"He's right, not to mention we don't know how that pillar has held up in over 1,000 years.  Just let Riagan take care of it." Calien shook his head.

[Sapphire Knight]

Shuu halted before swinging, Hellhound taking this moment to chime in. "Dumbass! I could have told you that what you're planning wouldn't work!"

"And the reason you waited until I was told no is because...?"

"I wanted to see if anyone else in this group had any brains and knew what they were doing." Hellhound answered with a smug tone. "Besides, would you have listened to me if I did?"

"... Valid point..." Shuu sighed, Grani grumbling something and turning back into a tablet. "Remind me again why I'm letting you talk?"

"Because I'm the oldest, wisest, and most powerful of us you have contracts with? Not to mention I saved you and the short guy when you both were frozen."

"You're never gonna let that go, are you?"

"Nope."

[Mr. Haxwell]

Riyalie - "Can I help?" she chimed, feeling eager to use her sawblade.

Toshi - "Not now. Let Riagan handle this." she whispered softly.

Grifter - "Besides, I don't think everyone would be tolerant to the amount of noise your pizza-cutter would make from grinding into that pillar." he tries to whisper back, "Especially... you know who."

However, that last remark from Grifter suddenly made Toshi's eye twitch for a moment, as if she knew.

[Blue Valkyrie]

The pillar begins to tremble before it keels over and with a loud crash bridges the gap quite nicely, although it does knock a few lighter party members off their feet on impact.

Aya leans down to inspect the pillar "As long as we don't do anything silly this should hold." aya comments looking back to the others.

[Mr. Haxwell]

Toshi - "Then we should probably cross one at a time, I suppose?" she suggested, "No use all of us weighing this bridge down, if we plan on surviving the void below us."

[Blue Valkyrie]

"Yeah thats likely for the best, I can go across first and make sure everything is safe unless someone else wants to?"

[Sakura Leic]

"I think it should be alright since you can glide with your wings if something goes wrong, but still be very careful." Calien stated.  "Like I said I'm not particularly sure how well that pillar has held up for a millennium."

[Blue Valkyrie]

"Well here I go then." Aya tentatively places a foot on the pillar--nothing, carefully she steps onto the fallen pillar and spreading her arms and wings out slightly to balance herself she begins to cross--while the damp moss covered pillar proves to be slightly dangerous she is able to cross without too much issue.

"Seems okay, it's a little slippery so be careful okay?" She cups her hands to her mouth and yells across the gap.

[Phi]

"And away I go~" Pema yelped as the massive impact caused her to jump and fall on her back.

"... Easy there, Salem, you know better than to ask, by now." Salem muttered to himself.
