I'm not sure what my source is but I definitely recall seeing them consistently cited as being older than BW protags. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah I'm sure they definitely aren't, I say somewhere between 14-16 max.

EDIT: Actually the BW protags are listed as 14+ and 16+ in B2W2 according to Bulbapedia. XY protags are ambiguous, but I still say younger than Hilda and Hilbert. Rosa and Nate are also ambiguous, but I'm pretty sure Red and Blue are 11 in the original games and May and Brendan seem to be 12.

Also @Yuffie, the protags age keeps increasing. XY protags are around 17ish IIRC so we might actually get a fully-fledged adult if the cycle continues.

I thought that they looked older, but I wasn't sure they were that old. I thought they were 14 or something. Still what I would consider kids. They trainers from BW2, on the other hand, look like they may be older teens.

Lots of announcements for the 20th anniversay have been revealed, no news on Pokemon Z/whatever yet.

Mythical Pokemon Events
[spoiler]It has been announced that the Mythical Pokémon are all to receive special distributions for the Pokémon games starting in February 2016. These are Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta and Genesect. We'll bring full details on these as they come. Mew will be distributed from February 1st through February 24th at Gamestop, unknown elsewhere while Celebi will run from March 1st through March 24th on the Nintendo Network, Jirachi in April on the Nintendo Network, Darkrai in May at Gamestop, Manaphy in June via Nintendo Network, Shaymin in July via Nintendo Network, Arceus in August via Gamestop, Victini in September via Nintendo Network, Keldeo in October via Nintendo Network, Genesect in November at Gamestop in the US, unknown elsewhere and Meloetta in December via Nintendo Network

Standard size New 3DS bundles.
[spoiler]For those of you in the US, a special New Nintendo 3DS bundle has also been announced for the 20th anniversary. This bundle comes packed with two coverplates featuring Charizard and Blastoise as well as Red & Blue pre-installed on the system as well as an exclusive Pokémon Nintendo 3DS theme. It's not currently known what this theme will include.[/spoiler]

2DS bundles for Europe, no news for US 2DS bundles just yet if they will show up.
[spoiler]Following their announcement in Japan on Christmas, it has now been confirmed that the Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow 2DS bundles are to be released in Europe. These bundles contain the coloured 2DSs as well as a copy of the Virtual Console game, a code for a special console theme, most likely matching their Japanese counterparts, and various stickers of Pokémon.[/spoiler]

I haven't bought a New 3DS. There's just been no real reason to jump that ship. I was tempted when I saw those Pokemon bundles, though. Not going to happen, but I was still tempted regardless. Unless the new Pokemon game coming out (maybe) later this year is a New 3DS exclusive, I don't see myself buying another 3DS.

Well the next Coro Coro has been leaked but so far it only has info on the Volcanion movie with the Febuary 15th issue having more info on it was well. It's been revealed that Volcanion hates humans and we don't know why, next one teases a reveal that will change the entire world of the movie. I'm guessing perhaps a Volcanion form maybe. There was also some more Pokken Tournament stuff too.

Guess we may need to wait for the March one or the next Nintendo direct for Pokemon Z/whatever.

I don't think they said anything firm one way or the other, only that they try not to do something so predictable when they can help it.

I took that with a shaker of salt: Who here DIDN'T see "Emerald Version" coming as soon as they laid eyes on Rayquaza in Gen3?

I expect the next Pokemon may be New 3DS enhanced, but it most certainly will not be New exclusive. Pokemon games always drag their feet when it comes to hardware.

Yeah, Xenoblade and Smash screenshots on Miiverse are about the only things that make New 3DS relevant.

In non-main-series news, three new fighters were announced for Pokken Tournament: Braixen, Garchomp, and the standard non-Shadow Mewtwo.

First three Pokemon movies are seeing a Blu-Ray release. ...and I'm really kicking myself for buying probable bootleg DVDs of the first two off of eBay a few months back.

Didn't hear anything like that what so ever but with the anime arc called XY and Z it's likely to be Z, however with B2W2 I can't say for sure it's Z either hench Pokemon Z/whatever.

EDIT: Also had another idea for a name if they made a X and Y sequel instead of the third expansion pack version, X^Z and Y^Z instead of XZ and YZ or X^2 and Y^2.

Back when they first first announced XY, I thought a third Z was inevitable because it seems weird to leave it at XY. Why would they stop one letter short of the end of the alphabet?

It would be like having a Zelda series of games based on the Triforce and only releasing two games instead of three--wait.

Everyone was expecting Gray/Grey back in Gen5 after Black/White.
Instead, we got Black 2/White 2.

Nothing's for sure. We are speculating names. They might stick to Z in the end, kudos if they do.
