Back when they first first announced XY, I thought a third Z was inevitable because it seems weird to leave it at XY. Why would they stop one letter short of the end of the alphabet?

It would be like having a Zelda series of games based on the Triforce and only releasing two games instead of three--wait.

The difference between the Oracle games and Pokemon is the Pokemon versions don't have different story lines to continue into it's the same thing from a different point of view.  Besides that was during the late GBC/early GBA when the technology limitations compromised and complicated the idea of having 6 different scenarios instead of 2 depending on which order you played the games, it's not really relevant here in the 3DS era.

I never expected a Gray. It wouldn't fit the Pokemon name theming. They have never done a third game that is a mix of the first two game's names. Any third (or fourth) game in a generation has always had a name that stood on its own within the theme. Yellow wasn't Purple. BW was the first generation that I didn't think there would be a third game because the name theme didn't support one.

Well Kyurem is Grey and it kind of fit into the Yin/Yang morality theme of Black  and White.  Not to mention Kyurem is based off of Wujin which is the absence of Yin and Yang so Grey would have made sense.

Perhaps, but going with the color themes of the cover legendaries of Gen 5, White (Reshiram) and Black (Zekrom), Grey/Gray (Kyurem) might have worked out.

I got also say the same that the third games were mix of the first two games, which Gen 5 broke the streak by being pure sequels.

Before I knew Green existed I thought Emerald was going to be Pokemon Topaz using that line of thinking not really thinking about Rayquaza's colors.

I, for one, thought it would be Platina. Yea.

What exactly is Platina?

They don't remake the third entries. I'd rather a Crystal remake myself.

You know what's weird? RBY's eShop release date is the day before my birthday (February 27) and I originally received Pokemon Red and Blue for my birthday in 1998. So I'm most likely going to be getting those games again for my birthday (for myself) 18 years later. That feels weird to me.

Also, realizing that I got my first Pokemon games 18 years ago makes me feel old.

The new Pokémon in Pokken turned out to be Chandelure. Very interesting for a fighting game cause it doesn't have legs.

Started training Kidnapper.  I set him up with an experimental moveset (Grass Knot, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, Psyshock), got him rated (meh with decent SpDef), and started playing with him in Amie.

Then I got his memory read.

Kidnapper got teary-eyed when I gave him treats. ;3;

I got a Shiny Squirtle named Squad with perfect IVs in HP, Special Attack and Speed, Modest Nature, Rain Dish Hidden Ability and has Dragon Pulse and Aura Sphere.  I'm training this little adorable guy.

EDIT: Perfect IVs are actually in HP, Defense, Sp Att, Sp Def and Speed.
