actually i think chespin might be chestnuts, considering that fennekin is a fennec fox and froakie is a frog, and the france aesthetic like that eiffel-tower-lookin' thing.

Yes, chestnut is part of it. English name is chestnut + pin, Japanese name is hari(needle) + maron(french for chestnut).

Looks great. Full 3D, and everything.
Worldwide release is also a fantastic idea. Slowly Pokemon morphs into full-blown MMO.

Hrm... kinda like the fire and water types. Although I won't say for certain until their full evolutions are released. Although this means I'd have to get a 3DS down the road.

I'll refrain judgement on the starters until we see their evolutions, but right now they're just ok to me, nowhere close to my favorites. The Y legendary looks [tornado fang]ing weird in that it feels like it's completely flat when seen from below, am I the only one that feels that way? Also, the X legend is totally the musketeer trio/quartet's daddy or something like that.

Agreed, young one. It doesn't look like it will be fighting though, judging by the first form. My guess is that it'll either be just plain fire or fire ground.

Yeah I'm just traumatized from using Emboar, easily the worst starter I've ever had.

Yeaaah I wasn't a huge fan of Emboar myself. Blaziken is still the most bad-ass Fire/Fighting Pokemon. Infernape comes in second.

I most definitely agree, especially since I have a Shiny Blaziken.
