I already have it in the MM Anniversary Collection for the GCN, but I will soon finally own the original SNES cart 14 years after I first played it when I rented it from Blockbuster Video. I just purchased a copy of it online, and it wasn't cheap ($67.88 plus shipping), but it was worth it, and it said in the description it comes with the manual too. My favorite Capcom game on the SNES! And also one of my Top 5 Mega Man games!

Um.... Why'd you waste over 67 dollars on a game that you already have, in a way?

More importantly, why SEVEN? I understand if you like it, but...

You may have to be on fire for that to happen, though.

You did the right thing, BossPlaya. The Anniversary Collection port was rushed, the dialog boxes didn't look as good as the original version (almost like it was remade in Adobe Flash or something, and the fade-in/fade-out effect of the text and dialog boxes was a bit strange too) and the ending didn't exist, only the credits. ^^;;

Personally, I LOVE 7. It's among my favorites~ <3

Really now, well, that could warrant purchasing the original, but I can't really fathom buying it at over 60 dollars. Maybe 20 at the most.

MM7 is underrated. I don't really get all the hate it gets, to be honest.

I'll be honest, I dislike it, but I don't entirely HATE it. As to why, I'm not sure, it's one of those times when you don't like something, just because you don't like it. Hard to explain, really.

Cold, bro. 7 is also a favourite of mine.

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

The only thing I really didn't like about 7 was the sprite size in relation to the rest of the screen.  Megaman's sprite just looked so big and it just felt off to me.  That and the fact that his charge shot only does 2 points of damage in this game.  Ah well, at least the NES fangame cleared up the first problem.

I noticed 8 seemed a little rushed too - some of the bosses voices are a higher octave than what they should be. So now, Aquaman's voice is really annoying. Atleast, in the Gamecube version.

So, even though you bought the same game, you would've got you're money's worth for it if you didn't pay $60 for it. X2 and X3, I could potentially see, but not for regular 7.

Oh, and I like 7's password system compared to the other classic series and X. Because it actually remembers what part of Wily's castle you were on and doesn't send you back to the very beginning of the castle stages. Gah! Why couldn't they do that for X and 8? Infact, I hate 8 the most in this aspect, because they have a save system, so they really didn't have an excuse not to continue where you left off in the castle stages.

IIRC the only password that let you save through the fortress in MM7 was the one you got after beating the game.  TBPH the fact that passwords themselves didn't let you save through the castle never really bothered me.  In this way you're allowed to replay through the stages without ever having to start your game over completely if you want to do it again.  And since continues still let you retry from where you were, you aren't penalized for losing.

Mega Man 7 is one of the best. That's all there is to it. It seems like the only people who hated it were snobby game magazines. Without going into a full review, it changed things up, while still keeping an unmistakably 'classic' feel when the X series was dominant.

I never got the Anniversary Collection, I just have all the cartridges, which works best for me. Hell, it's the way Mega Man was made to be played. Though the Super Nintendo controller does take some getting used to from the NES controller.

I'd rather replay 7 again then play a new game that is in 8-bit any day.

Agreed except for Mega Man II. I liked that one, as a kid, it was the perfect difficulty. Even today, it's not too easy.

Rockman & Forte 2 looks like it has good level design and such... but putting in the Wonderswan may have been the final nail in its coffin.

The one that I haven't played yet is Mega Man for the Game Gear. I've had the game for many years... just haven't found the initiative to get a Game Gear yet.
