I have a 360, but I dont want to pay for XB live just for this game... Its easier when all you have to do is buy a points card for the game. >3>

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

Look interesting, I just hope it isn't Little Big Capcom or something, though level design is something cool for MegaMan type games.

I think people ask too much from Capcom (sequels and things like that) and doesn't give this new game a try at least. x.x

Tabby has the right idea tho~

Quote from: Tabby (MMN)
This looks like it might just be totally silly and ridiculous.
Needless to say, I approve. Time to do something a little more carefree with MM.

Honestly, considering all the fan games out there, all the custom soundtracks and everything of the ilk, why not make a totally customizable Megaman Universe, with constant downloadable content and the like.

It's obvious. Build things using your very own room and furniture. Take a photo using the console's camera, and the game will generate a playable level.

My room would involve a lot of dragons and kaiju...

I'd think that the fans would want RS-MM/the entire US game continuity stricken from canon despite not interfering with it in any way. But I'm just bitter. >.>
Extremely bitter.

Lines like that actually diminish my expectations, though.  It's like "back to roots" comments: if they need to tell you that yet cannot show you, it's usually because it's actually nothing of the sort.  It doesn't help any that this is coming from the guy who has "no idea" why Powered Up didn't sell.

Like I said, I'm eager to know more.  But it's hard to be confident/excited when you know nothing and have been given only a weirdass stop-motion trailer.

And besides name, the difference between those continuities is what now?

They seem to be marketing in our direction, yes, probably because recent MegaMan titles have sold better here than in Japan.  Inafune has expressed disgust with Japan's gaming tastes before.

EXACTLY~ 8D

And honestly, if this game follows in the footsteps of the likes of Modnation Racers and LBP, we can probably expect that a fairly standardized campaign mode will be a part of the mix. If nothing else, Microsoft's rather strict guidelines dictate that you can't just ship out basically a "sandbox shovelware" game and expect that to fly. In the meanwhile, the genius that was MMPU's level-creator could truly stand to be appreciated as it takes a life of its own in a way that it will be appreciated on more mainstream consoles than the PSP's.

They seem to be marketing in our direction, yes, probably because recent MegaMan titles have sold better here than in Japan.  Inafune has expressed disgust with Japan's gaming tastes before.

And honestly, it goes along with what Capcom has been doing in these last few years. Growing increasingly frustrated with the Japanese market, Inafune and Capcom have been using that as all the fuel necessary to turn their sights westward.

Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 were all DEFINITELY western-oriented. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was basically a flop in Japan, and served more as a stepping stone towards what served to help make a case for MvC3. I'm sure whenever the likes of DMC5 and Ono's new project are unveiled, they more than likely will play to this same aspect.

If they want to try and switch things up a bit for the sake of marketing? Fine. I just hope that some where, a line will be drawn, before Capcom too subscribes to the notion of "next gen brown + bloom" and "moar bald space marines". 8D

*ahem*

More accurately, I don't want to have to waste money on a wireless adapter in addition to the actual game, when a system like the wii can connect to the internet without having to buy extra stuff. Its incorporated INTO the console. All I have do do is buy points cards.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Quite a bit, actually.
"U.S. continuity", in that context, is by definition a chapter-by-chapter derivative work.  It is written piece-by-piece with frequent disregard to the whole (Wily as Light's assistant is the exception, not the rule).  It already outright contradicts itself in many locations, and it is especially infamous that game manuals/boxes from X5 and beyond frequently contradict their own in-game U.S. localizations.  X5, X7, XCM, Xtreme2, and Legends 2 come to mind just off the top of my head.  PU also contradicts MM4.

It is also naive to say that there are not genuine translation errors that may impact continuity if taken literally.  I don't think anyone honestly believes that Xtreme2 takes place in a bathroom.  Then there's Z1's "Z-Buster," which was corrected in Zero Collection.

And for that matter, as long as we're taking gaming magazines into continuity, I need to keep some Battery Biscuits on-hand for Zero.

The way I see it, is that some folks just cant accept that what they've thought to be true is actually the US localization team [tornado fang]ing up. SO they insist that its the "U.S. Continuity" so that they can justify it. Even then, they still listen to the japanese one, and aknowledge that Wily was never Lights assistant and theres no prophesy about Zero's unification. So why do they try so hard to stick to the notion of a "US continuity", when they themselves subscribe to the japanese one? I dont get it.

'Then' is not 'Now'.

Which doesn't mean MMUni couldn't cull from it; it still exists.

I figured that "lavatory" in that case was a typo. :/

I'm not going to disagree about there being genuine goof-ups, but I don't think they should be enough to invalidate something like this. Doing that would also disregard the impact it's made on US/EU gamers (I can't be the only one who went the longest time thinking that Mega knew that Proto was his brother).

Quote

No, I'm fairly certain that those changes were made deliberately.

So why do they try so hard to stick to the notion of a "US continuity", when they themselves subscribe to the japanese one? I dont get it.

The problem is, the US and JP continuities are different enough that it's impossible to talk about them as being the same thing without lots of conflict. The easiest thing to do is to separate them--that way, there's no conflict unless someone (like, say, a fan) gets something mixed up.

And now the thread has been derailed. Crap.
