There's the Phoenix armor, A fire-based armor, and there's the Hydra armor, a water-based armor. There's also the Ultimate armor, for X. It's the same as you've seen it in Megaman X4 - X6. Just in 16-bit sprites.

Zero also has the black-armor state. And a viral armor.

That's all I know/remember of the armor for this game.  >w<

And here's some video demos! ovo

Phoenix Armor
Hydra Armor
Ultmate Armor

And Zero's Black Armor and Viral Armor!

You can check the thread for how the armor's have progressed.
Also, have some fan art of the mentioned armors made by Hellghost!
Phoenix | Hydra | Viral

made a whole post like this last night with info and everything>internet got cut off>my face ;v;

BTW, how's the game progressing? I'm not up to date.

Quote from: Genstov

Just to give a general update, the gameflow is progressing nicely.

With the recent addition of dummy bosses1 we've been able to test the flow of world map travel. As with any world-map-style game, you initially have a limited amount of world you can wander, and beating bosses opens up other sections. A large portion of travel-limiting mechanics are changes to the world map affected by beating the bosses themselves, much like the terrain changes in MMX1, though in MMXC these changes play a much larger role in accessibility to new areas or secrets. This recent burst of gameflow testing also allows us to work on events needed to advance the story.

And just to make sure everyone is on the same page:

    * All of X's armors are done (that includes heads, chests, arms, and legs)
    * All of X's armor combo secret abilities are done2
    * All of Zero's armors are done
    * All of the ride armors are done
    * X's special weapons are at 71% completion
    * Zero's techniques are at 75% completion
    * The world map is at 64% completion (and that 64% is serious quality)
    * The game's physics are essentially done3

1 A dummy boss is simply a sprite that falls into the room and sits idle due to not having full boss sheets. We can kill these to test weapon gets or map changes.
2 Once certain criteria is met after collecting all armor parts, combos involving parts from both armors have unique abilities that may be desirable for those looking to play X differently.
3 The physics of the game constantly receives tweaks as needed, but for the most part it is solid and plays like an MMX game.

X starting out with the leg upgrades in his legparts seems like it will make this game speedrunner-friendly.
You don't start out with the leg upgrades, you need to defeat at least 2 mavericks to get them.

I love speedrunning games. Aw, man. You're so cool.  >0<
Speed runs in MMXC will take quite a lot of gameplay to figure out the best route, there are multiples paths you can take.
I will also be adding a highscores for speedruns and other things (if I find a secure way to protect the data).

Because that would be even MORE ridiculous than it was in X8?

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

SSS would make playing on S feel easy, I imagine. I mean, what. Is SSS gonna make everything 4 times as fast, and everything kills you in one shot, and there're no HP drops, and there's more enemies EVERYWHERE?

Sounds exciting.  owo

You start out with the regular ground dash though, right?

I wouldn't have it any other way. Any speed run in any game requires optimization. And I don't mind spending a month figuring out the best route to go for this game.

Hey JKB, i have some technical questions about the game (answer only if you want)
-At which frameskip are you running your project?
-Are you using images to build the maps or making symbols with tiles on them
-Are you using a Vcam

i aks because a couple of days i was still unsure if such a game could be done in flash, but since i attempted to do it myself, now i beliebe hence my questions, once i got it more solid ill upload it for you guys... oh what the hell, here:
http://www.4shared.com/video/O1iy15Ix/RockManXU1.html

the controls are:
num pad1=shot
num pad0=jump
num pad3=dash
num pad5=change player(its a little buggy when you try to change from zero to x, so try pressing the attack button also, it should work)
The buster is intentionally made the way it is.

Rigth now im only working on the physics, any comments are welcome.

30fps.

I'm using images.

-Are you using a Vcam
No I don't.

I won't comment on the game because it seems way too early for that.
Good luck with your project.

Wow i didnt though you arent using a Vcam, so youre moving all the scenario the oposite direction the character does?
And, using images havent raised the project file size?

If you don't mind answering a trivial question, which armor for X do you think is most powerful? As in... Easiest to progress through the game with.

I gotta say... I'm reeeeeally liking that Ultimate armor.

Sorta, and yeah the file size increases over the time but is not that much and using images is easier so for me is worth it. The game is around 12mb right now.

Hmm, it will depend on the areas you are. If you going underwater definitely Hydra Armor is the way to go, but for none water areas I would say both are quite good, for Mobility Phoenix boots give you slight dash speed increase and Hydra boots give you H.Jump. P. Buster is a lot more powerful than H. Buster. The bottom line is that both armors have very distinctive abilities and with the armor part equip system you can take fully advantage of that. Once you complete both armor (found all 10 armor parts) mixing pieces will grant you new abilities adding a whole new level of gameplay.

The Ultimate Armor is just broken like in any other X games but that's secret and you won't get that anytime soon besides X intro stage.

Any progress on the Mavericks Mega Man X and Zero will be facing.

Beside adding them as dummies in boss rooms, no.

Right now my priority is to finish Zero skillset. I changed his control scheme and remade the Warp Strike skill so it's not that broken and now I'm working on his 7th skill, just one more to go. \o/

But wait... 5 parts per armor? What's the fifth?

Sorry for the blast of questions.

P.S.
I was glad to see you're still working on this project.

The fifth part is the white thing underneath. It allows for armor combos.

Get them both and you get to cross parts between the two.

White thing underneath? Is that a joke?

*Edit*
You mean the limbs? The parts that're normally Cyan?

The fifth part is like an enhancement chip. It will increase all 4 parts abilities and give you a giga attack. Visually it will change the underarmor color to white.
