Yeah, the amiibos have been getting better and better since Wave 1.

Even human proportioned characters look better now.

Though ZSS's face is sort of mannish and Palutena looks stoned. Ganondorf looks [tornado fang]ing amazing and Dark Pit isn't anything to sneeze at either.

Happy I haven't had to deal with any bullshit from the US retailers in a while.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I like how its basically a shadow attack on his moves. The three key projectile is great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only get three keyblades for that fight because you essentially steal them from Roxas if you pull off the Quick Draw sequence correctly.

Limit Form was particularly useful also in the sense you didn't need Donald or Goofy.

It's mainly just added flare for your fight with Roxas, and symbolism that they are both one.

Notably, it replaces your Magic with the four Limits you had from Kingdom Hearts 1, which were Sonic Blade, Ars Arcanum, Strike Raid, and Ragnarok. The Form also gives you the Dodge Roll growth ability, and is done by lightly tapping square+direction (and Wisdom Form's Quick Run is now done by holding square+direction if both are equipped). It has its own finishers (Zantetsuken, Ripple Drive, Hurricane Period).

Having access to Form without needing partners essentially gives you another method for HP/MP heal when you're forced to solo. I don't remember how often that is because it's been ages since I touched Final Mix (I actually don't have the HD remixes since I lost interest with KH a long time ago, though that might change with III).

Haven't got anything to add to the Sora discussion (aside from "I find it unlikely, given that the series began on the PS2, but on the off-chance that he makes it in, I'd download him on day 1"), but: I'll be getting Palutena's amiibo soon! Likely another JP version; seems that half of my current collection ended up being imports.

edit: huh, Wave 5's US release got pushed back. I seem to remember it being the 9th?

Chain of Memories was a huge seller for the GBA though. Sora earned his place commercially for Nintendo. Not to mention the more recent exclusives on DS and DDD for 3DS. Not sure of their sales but they must have sold well just being KH.

You know, if Sora does get in, would Disney and/or Squeenix make sure that his amiibo is easy to obtain? (And I hope that, PS4 aside, Sora would have his KH3 duds because dat plaid, man)


EDIT: Been thinking; if non-Nintendo debut consoles aren't an issue, then one of my ideal "fanservice characters" would be Lara Croft.

She's a pretty notable gaming icon (especially where the jump from 2D to 3D is concerned, I think), is already highly physically-active and so has a lot of potential moves, and has a boatload of workable alt outfits. On a personal note, Tomb Raider was one of the first major VG series I was aware of (the other being Sonic).

Palutena's Amiibo is coming out July 24th in the US. Amazon Exclusive, No Pre-orders, first-come first-serve, probably limit 1.

This... is the biggest mistake they've had yet. They're going to be putting them up at a specific time but seriously AMAZON exclusive? They're gonna blow their servers sky high.

Looks like one to just import if you haven't already.

Yeah it actually seems like they got things under control. I mostly was worried it'd be a Fire Emblem amiibo situation where those have always had cripplingly low stock (Wave 4 for Amazon regarding Lucina and Robin was said to be especially bad in the realm of selling out within 30 seconds) but hey maybe having her be Amazon/NWS exclusive was for the best.
