Still doesn't make it a waste of money. I imagine they'll peg this [tornado fang]er at $170-190. For larger screens and no other upgrade, that is a waste of money.

Satoryu

I imagine by the time the XL comes out, the DSi will go down in price and the XL will take its old price point.

My money's on Sato's prediction.

I resent that.  I have gi-hugic hands and I'm fine holding all three current models of DS.

The only thing I missed going from phat-to-i (Lite was for Mrs. Shell; I hated it anyway due to crappy buttons and power slider on the side) was the GBA slot and the more accessible Start/Select locations.

Same thing here, actually. I was just stating the common opinion.

Protoman Blues

I still prefer holding my Phat over the DS Lite, due to my big hands!  XD

Satoryu

The only reason I couldn't stand the Phat was the unflat edges leaving marks in my hands after prolonged use.

Protoman Blues

Hmmmm, I never had that issue.

Either way, I think the DSi XL will sell well.

Eh, honestly, I don't see how this is a bigger waste of money than a new DSi color.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

This thread needs "It prints money.gif".

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Apparently Iwata's spin on the "point" of the DSi XL is that the wider viewing angle is supposed to make it more feasible for others to watch you play.

......seriously?  You know, far be it for me to suggest taking a page out of Sony's book, but a TV output probably would have worked a lot better.  And besides, the original DSi can be viewed at pretty much any angle you want as long as you crank the backlight up.

They're trying so hard to sell this to everyone. Sorry guys, it's pretty much for older people.

And it will sell millions. As much as I don't want it to, it will. Just like I said would happen with Wii Fit (though the positive is that it apparently has some therapy-related medical uses.)

It'd probably look a little funky putting two screens on one monitor. When they do a TV output like that on demo kiosks, they tend to use two flat screens.

CephiYumi

there could be a toggle between the two screens

Harruhy

Except that would slow down gameplay considerably.

VixyNyan

No, Intelligent Systems' NITRO dev kit could output both screens just fine.

I have seen and tested one in a Official European Nintendo contest before, and they were blue-colored.
They output on 1 screen. Too bad they don't share them around to people "outside" the company stronghold. >U<

Yay Jumbotron DS~ :3

Yes, they should not let emulation become the best option for recording gameplay videos!

Flame

I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY DS PLAYER Wii DEVICE, NINTENDO.

Seriously? why the [tornado fang] do i care if others can or cant see me play? I play for MYSELF, not my friends.
