All I meant is that MM.EXE isn't Lan's alter-ego at all; it's his brother. You read WAY more into that than there was to read.

I did not, and I know who MegaMan.EXE is. You missed the point, which is that the idea of MegaMan.EXE being Lan's digital alter-ego doesn't sound as stupid compared to the actual truth.

In fact, isn't it the same as Star Force MegaMan?

Quote from: Blackhook on May 01, 2010, 08:09:22 PM
Was it even stated in the anime that he was his brother? (HavenĀ“t seen all the seassons)

My knowledge of the anime is limited, but I'm assuming so.

VixyNyan

Oh and the player wasn't even supposed to know that Saito was Netto's brother until much later in the first game. o.o;

It would be a spoiler if it was known earlier than intended. ^^;;

I did not miss the point. Yes, the fact that a human being became a computer program is hard to believe. But remember two things:
1) It's a video game. Stuff doesn't have to make sense.
2) There are other things in Japan aside from this where humans become computer data.

The alter-ego is more true of Star Force than EXE, considering that it's still Geo's body, but just tuned to a different wavelength.

And yes, Vixy, that was the HOLY CRAP moment right before the endgame in the first EXE. The requisite RPG plot twist, if you will.

I'm well aware of that. The point is simply that the assumption of MegaMan.EXE being an alter-ego of Lan Hikari isn't as unreasonable as you made it sound. You just admitted that more farfetched ideas exist.

And to keep in the spirit of the topic, some artwork from Guiltism (which I hope that it wasn't posted before). In my opinion, this is how Zero's upper body should have been designed in the first place.

Mirby

I never meant it was as unreasonable as you are making it sound like I did. Yeesh, lay off, this argument is pointless.

Cool pics!

Why do they keep referring to MM.EXE as Lan's "alter-ego"?

Because, as a modified normal TYPE-1 standard navi in the EXE anime, making him one of the supernavis. And when Lan sends Mega to the interwebs, he almost completely takes over, which is like Superman and Clark Kent in thier own show: While Clark is seen for a few secs in the show, trouble starts, then goes into a phonebooth or private area to change and become superman, that's where the term "alter-ego" came from:

Alter Ego: To become someone else; digitized avatar of one self, etc.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

And they do trust each other... as seen by Full Synchro in the later games... I suppose Gaia's explanation sums it up nicely.

I REALLY wish Zero EXE got more appearances in the games. He was a great character. The twist that he WAS a virus made him a very interesting guy.
No more a guy who has the virus, he IS the virus.

At least the Anime gave him his deserved screentime, and even introduced an Omega-like doppelganger (Zero-One) And had him sacrifice himself (just like the games!) to destroy Zero-One.

Also, Sushi.

Flying sushi

Where's the sushi?

Zero's well written, but his character background's a mess, which started from.. X4 and beyond? It's a good thing the EXE Zero's CB isin't as messy.
