MEGAMAN, by にれい.

Awesome. THAT'S how you make Mega Man look "hardcore", and this comic helps to cement that fact nicely.

QuoteWhen Axl met Kirby... By ワドルディ2号.

Being a Kirby fan, I find this adorable. >w< Heh, poor Axl. >U<

QuoteRockman Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future, by きんにく.

Someone actually had the GUTS to make MM:PU versions of the RM&F:CFTF robot masters? :O

The artist now has my eternal respect. 8) The color schemes he picked for them aren't half-bad, either (even though they're a tad low-key).

Thanks a lot for these finds, Doctor!

Well, the only one with an "Official" palette is Konro Man

Good point. Oddly enough, I thought that Komuso Man had one too.

I just realized one of my comments was in the quote box... fixed now.

Wait... branching paths? Do they trade places?!?\

It looks to me like Kirby either gets the Axl hat, or nothing at all (i.e. no ability).

Plus the morphing ability, Axl can morph ya know. It shows the odds of Kirby actually getting the morphing ability and failing (like when he swallows two people at the same time, it comes out as a roullete in the games) :P

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

I figured that it would be like the roulette.

That said, I wouldn't have been aware of Axl being able to morph, as I stopped playing MMX games after X6. -u-'

From Tips and Tricks (though they earn a bit of RAGE for possibly insulting RS-MM; have they not seen Captain N?).

--wait, why are the RMs suddenly Big McLargeHuge?

Gaia

Because of the Astro Boy =/= Mega Man origin rumor; both fought enemies twice their height.  8D

Regardless, good find!

Wow, someone else here reads Tips and Tricks? Who knew!

Wish I had the new issue.

Also, once the cartoons column began, they did mention Captain N. And they described the R-S cartoon in an older issue (I want to say late 03...) when someone wrote to them asking about it. Sadly, Gutsman's ass was omitted...

Its true though. MMRS is really not too faithful to the the games at all. this one at least is, in the artistic direction.
Hmm. I still need to buy Upon a Star...

Quoth TV Tropes:

Quote# Shown Their Work: While the show isn't accurate by today's standards, Ruby Spears included several Robot Masters from the games with designs mostly unscathed, while there are exceptions (Air Man, Roll), the looks are usually quite accurate, sometimes they add a few design aspects, which either makes the designs better or worse. Sometimes they tend to miss story elements, but Mega Man's story isn't easily definable, they do seem fond of the franchise, though, as they voiced for the remake of the first game, as well as Maverick Hunter X.

Quote#  They Just Didnt Care: Largely averted; Ruby Spears went out of their way to portray most of the characters fairly accurately. If you want to see a real example of this trope, look up Captain N The Game Master.

    * Fan Dumb often criticizes the show of this over not being accurate to the established Canon of Mega Man X or later Mega Man games. They forget too easily that, at the time the series ended, only two Mega Man X games were released. The episode Mega X was made mostly with research from the first game.

Whoever wrote that said it far better than I could. Now, can we please stop bashing the cartoon for "inaccuracies"? It was the mid-90s; it's not like they had a lot to work with.

Flame

whos bashing? RS is RS, Upon a Star is Upon a star. they both have their moments.
t'was just stating fact that RS, as faithful as they tried to be, still had that AMERICAN MACHO MANLY look to all the characters.

Sorry; that kind of thing has become one of my RAEG triggers. I dunno, RS-MM doesn't look that ripped to me, at least not in comparison to, say, every male character Rob Liefeld has drawn, ever.
