I meant the movie. DVD won't be out for a while I presume. 6-8 months is a good period of time.

So!
Hope this is an appropriate thread to bring this up in.

After tasting the free previews on the official site, I've been reading the novels, or rather some sort of e-translation ("baka-tsuki"?). It's kind of shoddily done, but on the other hand it's actually out unlike all but 2 of the official translations here...
...And I would just like to register my interest! I may have a gander at the animangu too, though according to Wikipedia they're almost unrelated to the novel plots. Then again, maybe that's a bonus, since I already know the plot?

Though I'm kind of baffled by the branching storyline in the last novel, I'd still recommend the read - just not in person...

Not sure anyone gives a crap other than me, but book 10 comes out next month.

The Haruhi PS3/PSP game, set after the story of the movie in the parallel world. Looks promising.

Saw the movie before and absolutely loved it. For me personally, they're (half) forgiven for Endless Eight.

It wasn't really a parallel world, but a time alteration if everyone was "normal" (meh i guess it's sorta similar). But yeah, not sure if i'm interested in the game.

I know that.

It was just a quick, simple way of putting it.

Well, book 10 is out, and so is the official translation of Rampage.

New girl looks like this and is apparently called "watahashi yasumi", but don't google it unless you want instant spoilers.

Continuing in the latest trend of random, non-canon spin-off manga getting anime adaptations...

Jesus. Can't they let Haruhi die already? [parasitic bomb]'s getting kind of old.

Are you retarded? They haven't done anything Haruhi anime related since the movie, which was four years ago this coming February.

Even more reason it doesn't need to be rebooted.
I guess Nagato's worth it since she was the only semi-decent thing in that trainwreck of a series.

Money, my dear boy.

Its why things keep coming back. Do you really think Madoka would've had three Movies shortly after the series ended if it hadn't been a bloated cash cow?

Compare Lucky Star which whimpered out after a single season with a single OVA, then again that series isn't as ripe for rebooting as the endless money pit Haruhi seems to be.

It's a damn shame that Lucky Star didn't continue after the OVA, because I would choose that over Haruhi, any day.

Yes, I said it.

Yeah you did.

This news has re-awoken the Haruhi-haters. WOOHOO.

I don't hate Haruhi.

I simply prefer Lucky Star.

Basically this. Haruhi's watchable, but I really don't like it that much.

Loved Lucky Star though. I should rewatch it some time.

It`s strange. The show got so popular during its time that it achieved anti-popularity and became the butt of every weaboo joke. I blame it the over hype phenomenon. Everyone keeps talking about how good something is, tangents of interest will develop unrealistic expectations and consider it the worst thing ever just because the show doesn't meet them.
