I played it at PAX East. You will NOT be disappointed with it at all.

I can't wait.

I'm pretty much set on getting the 3DS version, so that video definitely cemented my decision even further!

Such a happy looking game. This was unexpected.

The logo reminds me of this

I remember playing Sonic 06 at this special PS3 preview event in the city before it came out. I asked the rep if this lag & delay was the system or the game, and she promptly said the game. I told her, this was not a good game to promote your system with, cause holy [parasitic bomb]!

Yeah, that looked awesome!

Also, Splatoon looked like a whole lot of fun! I want to play that!

Yeah, definitely getting the 3DS version for the Streetpassing!

That Villager looks like he's about to disarm Samus with that shovel if you know what I mean.

I added a conference highlight section to the OP.

I did Nintendo's based off the direct. Some stuff I missed (Mario Maker, oops.) but if somebody could fill out the rest that would be swell.

Sakura Leic

Okay I finally watched the first Robot Chicken short, that poor Mother 3 fan.

Captain Toad looks like a LOT of fun!

Indeed. It really, really does.

Quotes in this article come from Shigeru Miyamoto...

- GamePad screen used for a first-person cockpit view
- third-person behind-the-Arwing-fighter view on the TV
- views can be swapped
- look in any direction to shoot

"Before, in the N64 [game's] levels, when we had these valley modes, it was difficult to play those levels because the aiming was synced to the movement of the ship. So, as you were trying to aim, the movement of the ship was flying around within the valley. But now what we're able to do with the Wii U GamePad is, because the ship can move independently of your aiming, it makes it much more interesting and much more fun to play these valley modes where you're flying the ship but simultaneously aiming at a lot of different things in the level."

- one mode includes simple arena combat
- fight alongside allies Slippy and Falco
- push the joystick in to transform into a tank
- another mode puts you up against Star Wolf
- third mode has you flying around a cityscape with a giant monster
- this mode features a helicopter with rotors
- press the right stick in to drop a robot that can shoot or drive
- the robot is tethered to Fox's ship
- when the robot drops, the GamePad view switches from the aircraft's cockpit to the robot's perspective
- collectible tokens are on the roofs of the buildings

"We're in an era when people have a limited amount of time... to play these long story-based games, so there will be a story for the game, but you'll be able to choose the missions you want to play."

- arena-like missions and "valley" missions
- game is set to be released within a year
- seeking dev partners to work on the project with

"The way I design games is I start by experimenting with different aspects and play styles. Once we have that laid out and understood we go in and build the graphics [around it]. We've been working on a number of different games that use the GamePad as the focus of the gameplay. Among the games we were working on, this was one of them. But originally we weren't targeting E3 as the announcement time for the Star Fox game. But in developing it, we really came to like it and I also wanted to motivate ourselves to complete the game as quickly as possible. So we brought it here to E3 to announce it to give us that motivation."

Uh oh. Miyamoto is coming up next!

Phi

I hope they show Mech action in their Xenoblade Chronicles X playthrough.

The Great Gonzo

I haven't been paying direct attention to E3, but my understanding is that Nintendo basically won. (No Man's Sky does look cool, though)

Sakura Leic

There's going to be more stuff revealed by Nintendo tomorrow.

I don't think there's been a year they haven't won.

Not for me, they didn't.

As [tornado fang]ing awesome as the new Zelda game, Captain Toad and Palutena look, it wasn't enough. And Hyrule Warriors is Dynasty Warriors, so absolutely no challenge to it. It's just nice to look at.

Now, if they actually showed extensive Zelda gameplay, that probably would've sealed the deal for me. Especially since there was no Uncharted gameplay, Nintendo could have killed it.

Anyway, just my opinion. I'm leaning towards Sony, this year.

Sakura Leic

Jeez Little Mac is a Little Monster, and that Zero Suit Samus player was lucky as hell and skilled.

Yoshi, Kirby, Bayonetta, Xenoblade didn't do anything for you either?

Sakura Leic

That poor Pit player, damn.

So wish I was watching this instead of at work! XD

Sakura Leic

They're at the fan favorite matches with Marth, Megaman, Greninja and Fox.

EDIT: Fox won, but Megaman also moves on by the vote of the Fan Favorite character.

Good ol' Fox.

From what I've seen in the YouTube links briefly, the game is faster than Brawl.

I'll find out tomorrow at Nintendo World! XD

Sakura Leic

Really fast, now some media folks are playing for the hell of it.
