"Ah. Well okay then... I'll be in my fort if you need me. Or you can call me on the Holo Caster, either or..." she replied and shuffled back to bed.

(I think I have a PhD in Alakazam Trauma. 8D)

Joe rubbed his eyes for a bit, and seemed to regain a bit of his vision. Reaching for a PokeBall, he tried to recall his Raticate. His Raticate, having recovered from the Gleam, jumped into recall beam to help his trainer along. Hearing the familiar ping of a successful recall, Joe pocketed the PokeBall.

"So... Runaway is exceptionally quiet after all that... Is he OK?" *achoo*

Elsewhere...

The party in woods between Mauville City and Lavaridge Town was still going strong and thanks to the time-bending powers of Dave the Dialga, it was a never-ending night of partying. As for the Temporal Pokemon himself, he was playing keyboard (despite having no fingers) in a band with Palkia on guitar and Giratina on the drums. The vast majority of the grunts were dancing, drinking, or a combination of both. Kenny G then jumped onto the stage and blasted out notes from his saxophone.

"TGIF! TGIF! TGIF!" the crowd kept chanting, though it was actually a Tuesday.

Pyro, meanwhile, was dancing on a table surrounded by a bunch of grunts who were once Beauties, who had since shed their uniforms for spaghetti straps. He spun around on his toe and moonwalked towards the edge of the table.

"Best Arbor Day, EVAH!"

The remaining admin, Lillian, and her small and motley band of unaffected grunts pulled a burlap sack over the immortal boy, tied it around his ankles and carried him off.

"The boss wants us to take him to Mt. Chimey. Hurry!"

"Yay!" Pyro cheered, "We're going to Gary's house!" 8)

They ran past Sidney, member of Hoenn's Elite Four and lead guitarist for the Howlin' Mightyenas (who heard about the party and decided to perform there), who heard the boy's yelling. He immediately recognized the crazy kid who took over for Flannery when she was promoted to the Elite Four after Drake retired. Concerned, he pulled out his Xtransceiver and called an old friend.

"Hi, Sakura? It's me, Sidney," he said, "I think you would want to hear this, a bunch of Team Flora grunts made off with the kid from Lavaridge. He said something about going to Gary's house."

--

Meanwhile...

Another Team Flora Admin (named Rosalyn) walked in on DWII during his experiment. The grim-looking redhead have him a grimace that was both haughty and humorless.

"We're pushing up our deadline, Doctor," she said in a deadpan tone, "Are your experiments any closer to success?"

Trak looked at Runaway, who was still staring off into space.  She stooped and put her hands on his shoulders.  "Hey... You okay, buddy?"

After a moment, the Alakazam managed to quell that replaying vision and he glanced up, nodding slowly.  "...Oui.  Oui, je vais bien." Yes.  Yes, I'm fine.  He moved to the bunk, climbed on it, and sat, deep in thought.

Apprentice could only observe Runaway's behavior with mild understanding of what he had seen.  Though he couldn't "see" what made the Alakazam so startled due to only having half the psychic powers of his eventual final evolution, he sensed enough devastation from the retreated Zoroark to know something was going on that was keeping him from being more open to others than any Pokemon coaxed into trusting humans with a friendly treat.

He brings his stick-size rose to his nose, seeming to be sniffing it while contemplating his own thoughts on the matter and if he could have a better chance of getting through the Zoroark's apprehension.

Joe continued to rub his eyes, until his vision slowly returned. Hearing Runaway's reply... Although he did say he's fine, but... Something seemed off. Shrugging it off...

"Well... It seems we have mostly recovered from the hay fever... *achoo*... Mostly..."

Trak rubbed her nose and snorted back some congestion. "Yeah, for the most part.  My nose is still stuffy, but it's tolerable.  How about you, Runaway?"

The Alakazam snorted, but otherwise remained silent, deep in thought.  It would only require a moment, just enough contact to establish a connection and chase the vision back to its source.  But, he needed contact with the Zoroark in order to do so.  He heaved a sigh and continued to think about what he saw, and the same brief flashes played over and over.  The Zoroark's mate, its offspring... subjected to horrors which he had only ever heard about, mainly through Mewtwo, who at times wouldn't shut up about how he got that damn magnet in his head.

Though, Runaway supposed, talking about it was a coping mechanism.  Actually learning the details and seeing what the clone saw was something he could have done without.  Though, as he thought back to it... there was something disturbingly familiar... almost as if Twoey's own personal horrors had a signature... that matched something he saw very briefly in that Zoroark's brain...

Apprentice looks to the Pokeball the Zoroark retreated to, contemplating something before scooping it onto the center of his stick-sturdy rose and carrying it over to Runaway, seeming to imply using his powerful Psychic powers to bypass its physical confinements and study the troubled mind and soul within.

Runaway took the ball and studied it.  He had tried bypassing balls before in order to reach the creature inside, something that Professor Sycamore's colleagues had him attempt with abused Pokemon caught in the Pokemon Village, but with how the ball converts the Pokemon into some sort of energy field and forces them into a degree of suspended animation, the most he was able to glean was a buzzy static and occasional incoherent jumble of whatever was on the Pokemon's mind as it was being called into the ball.

That, and the material of the ball itself resisted psychic scanning.  Runaway wasn't a top-percentage Alakazam by any means, but he could still go toe-to-toe with others used by various agencies.  Even those Alakazams had difficulty and their scans resulted in similar findings.

Finally, after a long moment, Runaway relented and spoke up.  It wasn't much, just a brief statement that the Zoroark has family, and its family were being harmed.

"That's our only link, and a good guess," Trak shrugged, as Runaway didn't specify who was hurting them.

Trak rubbed her nose and snorted back some congestion.

(Literally read the last part as "snorted back some cocaine." I'm seriously not joking.

I need more rest.)

Wanda woke up as if out of a trance. She looked down at her Sandile and hugged it tightly. Luckily, after such a nightmare, her acing head turned into what seemed like a light cold. She sniffed a bit and looked at the others. Though she could hardly believe that the Alakazam was speaking french, it wasn't entirely impossible. Psychic pokemon were capable of learning different languages after all.

"Is everything okay over there? Your pokemon looks pretty down." Wanda said, sniffing a bit and getting in a better position against the wall.

Trak nodded. "Alakazams usually prefer telepathic communication, as I have another and a few Kadabras who prefer to communicate that way.  Runaway's a bit of an oddity.  As for why he seems down," she glanced at him, "it's a long and complicated story.  He picked a fight with a Zoroark, and them saw something in its mind that... wasn't very nice."

"Je pourrais examiner de plus près, mais je vais avoir besoin de contact direct avec le Zoroark," Runaway explained. I could take a closer look, but I'll need direct contact with the Zoroark.

Joe thought back to the Mewtwo... Doing its magnet in head trick.

"... Hey, you're right. Well, the PokeBall is literally in your side of the court."
