I think the 8 controller thing is unnecessary with the emphasis of online play and stuff.

Plus, what major publisher these days wants to let eight people play one copy of a game, instead of making them buy eight separate copies?

That said, i haven't seen any way to buy Wii-U gamepads...

hope Smash-U supports multiple control types. Wiimotes would be greatly appreciated. or at least the Wii-U Classic controller. That's much easier to get.

Wasn't implying there will, it's just a thought. $:\$

Hoping it will work with the old Wii's Classic Controllers too since I already have the original and Pro versions of that controller.

EDIT: Oh wait you meant the Classic Controller as in not the Wii U Pro Controller.

Well I assume if they're doing what they did with brawl we'll even get the senseless Sideways Wiimote or Wiimote + Nunchuk controller options too.

To be fair the Wii U needed a Day one patch out of the box as well. But at least that one didn't require you to connect to play games.

This isn't news. We knew this already.

The day-one patch patches out the mandatory internet check-ins, which the console can't actually do now because Microsoft has decided against implementing it for now. How long that'll last is anyone's guess, but--

tl;dr they told us this was going to happen months ago.

Unboxings are starting, and already failures are coming in.

Particularly, aside from consoles with hardware failures, the day one update seems to be failing, and they pulled the offline update file from their website, because people's consoles were getting banned for using it.

To be fair, PS4s also had a lot of har5dware failures, broken HDMI ports etc.
But that MIGHT be caused, as the rumor says, by sabotage.
Sabotage by people who weren't paid or treated badly while they worked on putting the consoles together.
But I dunno how much of that is true.
