Xenoblade is still $200 on Amazon.

On Ebay.

Prices are now in the $70-$90 range, with some people still trying to get away with higher prices.

We'll have to wait and see.

Also I have no work until next Wednesday since my mom is taking 2 days off on Thursday and Friday for Labor Day Weekend and she wants to go in super early tomorrow to make up for that.

It appears that Man of Steel isn't in theaters anymore.

[tornado fang]ing [tornado fang], guess I'll have to wait for it to release on Blu-ray.

Yeah. Disaster movies are always better watched on the big screen.

Japanese DVD, Huh. I believe that has the English Dub on there even, could be wrong though.

Sakura Leic

My cat is in the room and she's nuzzling me so I can pet her.  Yay multitasking.

I have it on VHS, so I needed a DVD copy.  But, yes, the soundtrack was awesome.  I have the soundtrack.  It came with the radio drama.  THAT ORGAN MUSIC.

Rin

Oh yeah that audio drama too.
Good times.

Mabel has yet to hear the audio drama.  She's watched Mewtwo Returns three times, now, and her ears always perk up when she hears that baritone.

Mewtwo: Oh, Mabel, there is more where that comes from...  óVó

Okay, I got tired of that new TFN mod's immaturity as a moderator and had decided to take them aside following the latest debacle that left another member angry.

I sent them this PM:

QuoteI didn't want to make this public and felt it best to simply take you aside. As a fellow moderator, both past and present (well over 10+ years of experience in other forums), I have noticed a few things recently that may have already been pointed out to you. Thus, this may seem like I'm beating a dead horse, here.

I've noticed more than once that you've been a bit eager to exercise your newfound powers, and this is something I tend to notice with new moderators who haven't had a lot of experience in moderating a forum. The thing that moderators need to realize, though, is that they are still users. Thus, they need to continue to act like users. The only thing that makes a moderator different are the amount of options at their disposal.

That said, when a new moderator becomes a bit too eager to exercise their authority, it comes off as overbearing. That moderator has become the forum cop. In most communities, forum cops are frowned upon. They have ceased being users and have become machines. They had allowed their power to go to their head and thus had forgotten their roots.

Moderation is secondary to your position. You may not be aware of this, and when I had first started out, I wasn't aware of it, either. I thought I was doing the right thing. But, when one jumps at the chance to scold the forum for the most minor of offenses, it's overbearing. Mayla has every right to be upset, as she had shown in her comment regarding this latest situation.

The thing about forums is discussions will veer off-topic. It's the norm. It's expected. Thus, when it happens, there is no need to suddenly pounce on it. It's simply a discussion that went off-topic, no rules were broken. A better way to handle this in the future would be to attempt to steer the discussion back on-topic, rather than scold the users. Should that method fail, then a gentle warning would be warranted, plus the option of taking the discussion to a new topic. Should that fail, then an administrative command would suffice. Exhaust your other options first, then pull out the mod voice. You will get a better reaction this way.

Moderating is a learning curve, and it takes a while to settle into a pattern. Unfortunately, the bad habits tend to be settled into first. Thus, asking other staff members for advice and their opinions of your methods would be a good route. Even ask the users. You're still a user, regardless of your additional options. Keep the lines of communication open to your fellow users. They will help steer you in the right direction. :)

We'll see how that goes.

I'm so glad I'm not letting my powers go to my head.

It is very tempting, for sure, but I manage pretty well.

i think the most fun i had with mod powers on another site is changing almost every active member's name to some artist in my music library. in all caps even. I still haven't changed back everyone's, though at least gave them an option to do it themselves if they care enough and aren't completely oblivious.

Rin

DL'ing episodes of Teen Titans Go, because I need a laugh, or at least something to cheer me up.

These are episodes I haven't yet watched too, so it should be fun.

Quickman

Okay, things with that mod went smoothly.  She realized that she was becoming overbearing, as another mod told her.  I also gave her some advice and suggestions, and she agrees with asking a user if she's unsure on how to approach a situation.  Also, letting minor things slide, she agreed that that's okay, along with having a window of when to address a problem.  I tend to have an hour-to-two-hours window for when an act is committed and I see it.  If it's not within that window, I ignore it, because it's no longer relevant.

I also said that a lenient (to a degree) moderator is a happy moderator with happy users, as they're not stressing out over every little thing. :P
