So wall of text incoming.

Holy [tornado fang] I just realized why I feel so good about myself right now.
So, a while ago I picked up OpenITG, which is an open source version of In The Groove (a Stepmania clone), specifically for the Game Grumps Revolution pack. I had no idea why I decided to play a DDR-style game ever, because at the time I sucked at them. Like, a lot. But the pack had lower difficulty levels for us inexperienced people, and hey, it was Game Grumps remixes, the ones that I liked! So I took a crack at it. Starting in novice difficulties (1-2 difficulty points) and slowly working into some of the easier Easy modes, still failing a bit but doing okay. I decided I'd look around for some more Stepmania packs to add to OpenITG, and I found a chart for Megaman X4 Stage Select. The lowest difficulty they had was...seven or eight I believe? Got my ass kicked by it. I got my ass kicked hard.
So I went back to the Game Grumps songs. Soon, I had mastered the Easy songs (3-5 difficulty points), and moved on to Medium songs (5-7 difficulty points). I didn't even realize at first, but I was actually doing relatively good. I wasn't on Novice like before, I was on Medium. Average. And I was getting [parasitic bomb] done. So, in a total Megaman X1 twist, I took on the Stage Select again. And kicked its ass. It was like Vile from the first game...and it was sweet. But it is indeed a heartfelt testament that I CAN get better at things, I CAN have fun with things I'm not good at, and I DO have the determination to topple tasks I previously thought were impossible.
