As for the Pokemon RP...  Team Rocket attacked.  Things went to hell in a hand basket.

There's also some other pretty crazy [parasitic bomb] in there too.  Heirophant is a White Mage and was able to shrink my Zekrom and Pyro is immortal who can attract other legendary pokemon and cause misfortune to those who don't treat him nicely.

There's a lot of dark stuff, that gets darker through the generations.
Gen1 is just the tip of the iceburg.
