Or it could be surprise Gen 7, I mean who the hell expected Black and White and Black 2 and White 2 so close to the end of the DS's life span.  It's most likely Z due to those Zygarde formes though.  Though even then with Regigigas appearing a generation after the Regis it wouldn't be too out of left field to be gen 7, but again it's probably unlikely.

There's also been a rumor of a trademark for a code name Pokemon Rainbow, code name mind you most likely not the final name, but I doubt it because said leaker said he got the info from a NoA employee in the marketing department who also gave him the marketing budget information for the 3ds and Wii U as well.  I would think an employee wouldn't risk that considering what happened with that Smash Bros leaker way back, though dumber things have happened.

What would be a good flying type Pokemon to defend against Emolga? I have strong Flying types but they are weak against Electric moves.

There is a list of eligible Pokemon for Sky Battles on Bulbapedia you can look at that includes the non Flying Types.  If you can I recommend a Baltoy since they are immune to electric but Aerodactyl is also good since his speed is ridiculous.

I don't recall who I used for that particular Sky Battle.  Knowing how many Trainers I managed to skip during my playthrough, that battle might've been done when I was toting a high-level Pokemon and just won through overkill.  And now that I think about it... it might've been a Legendary.

I don't know when that Emolga fight is but I know Gligars are found kind of late game.

The Emolga battle is at Route 11, before heading into Reflection Cave.
Gilgar is a horde in Route 19.

... Still, Sky Battles are optional. I avoided a lot of them throughout Kalos.

The hard-to-find ones aren't worth it, especially when they are pixel-perfect in trying to get them to fight.
