It's the Friend Safari, post-game thing. Lists all the friends on the system's friend list and assigns a type to each person. You choose that Safari and enter a small area where 2 Pokemon of that type (usually rare, starters are included) can be found. If that person's beaten the game, a 3rd Pokemon can be found in their Safari.

Do they assign types only to friends that have shared codes both ways?

Or do they do so for one-ways as well?

Sakura gave Quickie a Zoroark and Sapph is the Dark Type Elite Four while Sakura has a shitload since her dad is Professor Birch so therefore she catches a [parasitic bomb] load.

It will help in capturing, and delay the inevitable Struggle.

I only caught him cause he got stuck spamming Barrier when his defense was already maxed out. Used a Dusk Ball (catch rate of 3.5 in caves, which is higher than an ultra ball's rate of 3)

Oh and heads-up, Recover has 10PP. So you can make him run out if need be. He also has Aura Sphere and Psychic.

I make sure to have at least 30 of each version of Poke Balls just in case when facing off against lots of Legendary Pokemon or to prevent myself from running out.

Anyway who wanted a blue-colored Flabebe? Was it Mirby or Sakura? One of you mention you wanted one, I think.

Anywho, I should get some sleep and avoid staying up all night like that again.  That was ridiculous.  Granted, I got two Badges and a few evolutions under my belt (my Azurill, Rain Mouse, is now fully-evolved!), but damn, I need to do something other than play Pokemon all night!

So getting to him is going to be like in the original where you have to beat the game first? Or is he somewhere in the middle of the game this time? Or is he a special event like in one of the other recent games?

According to what I've seen, beat the Elite Four, and your reward is tangling with Mewtwo.

On another note, I freakin' love my Dunsparce.  I won't take her off my team for any reason, as her moveset is nice and she has enough bulk to be a sufficient meat sheild.  My Pansage and Azumarril have been taking tours of duty in the PC, and I can't take my Farfetch'd out, as he's my Pokemon-catcher and Psychic-slapper (Dark and Bug moves in his set). 

Someone needs to go so I can start raising Runaway, so Rain Mouse may once again go into the PC.  I just won't take my Dunsparce off the team.

Even more like old times, the cave Mewtwo is in (though it's literally just a room) is known as the Unknown Dungeon! And you need to surf to get there!

but yeah, you also get to tangle with the Z legendary post-game. And Friend Safari. And Battle Maison. Among other things...

It has a good Movepool but its stats beside HP really, really suck.  I personally don't recommend it.

Ha, who cares? I had plenty of Pokemon up to 100 in previous games just because I loved em.

Thus far I just got Lucario (IRON FIST) and the Mega Ring. About to head out of town. I just got Surf as well and apparently, Gogoat (TANNGRISNIR) can learn it. This interests me!
