I've yet to actually start the Looker side quest.  I've been mutating Berries, hunting for shinies, and raising an all-Psychic team.  I'm also doing some research in Amie, seeing what else effects what. 

I found that your Pokemon will respond to their names.  Runaway responds to his name.  If you speak his name, he'll look up with that orange music note and sparkles.  If you just talk without mentioning his name, no sparkles appear, just the music note.  So, there is some limited speech recognition.

But yes, should be fun.  Though, I noticed that at least my Hypno won't respond in the same way as my other Pokemon.  It could be because he's not named and was traded, but I'll need to test that theory with Mewtwo.

Posted on: February 16, 2014, 07:45:37 AMI had a thought.  It might not help in your shiny quest, but it won't hurt to try.  Have you switched out the English parent with any of the offspring?  Maybe some inbreeding is needed for that elusive shiny...

That's how I plan to tackle a Masuda Method run.  Start with the parents, and then after a set number of eggs, switch out the domestic parent with a random offspring and continue switching offspring after a set number of eggs.  I'll be able to vary IV spreads, too.

I have hatched out every single characteristic. And still hatching. And to be honest, despite hatching that superior potential 2IV male, I'm not looking for IVs. >_>
