I've got Kadath in the daycare with Gack, my Timid Ditto.  Gack's got an Everstone and Kadath hates him because he's not an Impostor Ditto and couldn't fool her.  So, I'm waiting for them to have hate sex.

Okay, I just learned event Pokemon can't be traded over GTS, but they can be traded through PSS. Still gonna be tough to get the mons I want. If I get really desperate, I might try to borrow my friend's copy of Pearl and tweak to Shaymin.

I'm not sure if the NPC in the ST cafe ever changes what she says.  I've had a couple Pokemon on my team who were in ST, but she still has this to say:

I think she will only comment on the first Pokemon in your team that has cleared SST.

She's said it even when Runaway wasn't in the starting slot.  Mewtwo's been through ST, too.  Hypno's recently cleared it.  But, I guess Runaway is the pinnacle by which the rest can't seem to stack up.  You go, Runaway.  I shall rub your firm six-pack abs.  Such toned muscles, so strong, much pecs...

Being through ST is one thing, but did you collect all the ribbons for each of the regimens? If you have 30, then they have a chance to steal the breeder's gaze.

I have not collected the ribbons, yet.  I hardly use ST.  But, I guess I'll put Runaway through it anyway, even though it won't benefit him much, aside from tone those hawt abs of his.

DP didn't get Oak's Letter, so that is one of the (many) things that Bank will not transfer. Same with Darkrai.

What ways were Shaymin obtainable?

I know Darkrai and a few of those other [tornado fang]-hard to legitimately obtain legendaries were obtainable through connecting with Pokemon Ranger or something.

Shaymin was only available to Platinum on localized games. Same with Darkrai.
Manaphy was the one that needed to clear a Ranger mission.

Shaymin: Movie11 event / TRU event / Platinum Oak's Letter / Ranger 3 WiFi mission
Darkrai: Alamos (Movie 10) event / Platinum Member Card / Ranger 2 WiFi mission

That's just english gen4 events.

Gen5 has Dark Explorers TCG Darkrai via WiFi.

And I guess they didn't bring Diamond and Pearl's Oak's Letter to the US because of no Fateful Encounter thing that enables Sky Forme or something.

The Ranger WiFi missions were time restricted. Second-hand game cards might have them uncompleted, though most likely not.
