Went with design B.

C is cool, but reminds me too much of EXE/SF, AND doesnt really go well with the nature of Trigger's body.

While B is more just an update, a more detailed version of the previous version.

I'd see it as Trigger himself changing. Not that he changed armor, but he's always been that way and each game just changed what he looked like because of artistic or technical changes between games.

We don't have to explain why it changes, just choose the one we like best.
