I think it's funny how so many people are seeing the matter of horsepower as a radical departure from Nintendo's established style, when their benchmark for performance comparisons is nearing 6 years old.
Anyways, on the controller, I see the bizarro-Nintendo-hook here as being that the controller has a screen in the first place. That it's touch-sensitive is just a Nintendo expectation these days.
NO WAY is the touch screen alone replacing all other inputs. The thing wouldn't have sticks, which were already confirmed, if that was the case. Besides, Nintendo got a lesson in that waaay back when the DS first launched, with Super Mario 64 and the DSphat's thumb strap that everyone forgot about.
I'll say now the same thing I said when the Wii remote was first shown years ago: If it's backwards compatible, it must accept old or comparable controllers. End of story.
