Supposedly they've BEEN hinting at that since December, but as a download.

I missed this part of the "soccer mom wars", but the mentality seems to be that there's less likelihood of public outrage on the eShop than on a retail store shelf.  ...thoughts?

Maybe... but seeing as FANS know of this and asked for it I guess they thought there's no need to see gameplay seeing as everyone probably see it like a thousand times. Honestly it's nice to know they've been working on it in secret but sad no physical release... I guess they wanted to avoid backlash from parents.

Or maybe because its a Niche-as-[tornado fang] series with little-to-no recognition in the US, Shelf Space is limited and more than likely to be used for more popular games or franchises.

That being said, with niche titles they could at the very least offer up Physical copies through a web store or something, limit them to 10,000-50,000 copies or something, that way there's not a case of shortage because of the digital version and people who want a physical copy can have that option.

Well, I linked the "backlash with a physical copy" discussion above, and yeah, it's many months old.

I'm sure many a fan might prefer a digital copy due to being more discrete, being able to hide their pervy game in a folder away from the front screen and all, no incriminating boxes.

I...really want to argue with that in defense of the game and all, but I can't.  It IS a lousy trailer.  Even if they're mainly concerned about existing fans, the fact that they made it out of in-game cutscenes without showing any actual gameplay means that your rare newcomer won't know this game from a dating sim.

Yeah no way in [tornado fang]ing hell they're releasing a boobie game on a Nintendo system in the US, without hiding that thing in the shadiest of places, or the e-shop.  They're already too afraid to show a teensy tiny bit of Tharja's delicious ass to us proud 3DS owners.  That's what we're dealing with here.  Now, imagine if people saw this on shelves in Walmart, the holy gathering place for our most intelligent citizens.  That's just asking for trouble.
