Well, I got my chance to play Madworld today.  Did it live up to my expectations?

FUCKITY [tornado fang]ing [tornado fang] YES!   8)

Simply put, even the simply demo of this game is not only fuckawesome, but hilarious as well.  I didn't get to face my first opponent, Jude the Dude (love this name), but I got to experience the many, MANY joys of pummeling people, chainsawing them in half, tossing them into the random Buzzsaws and targets and walls and barrels and dumpsters.   LoL, and then came the DEATH PRESS.  What was the goal of this?  Toss as many people into the Death Press before it's spikey glory comes pressity pressing down on your pummeled foes and racking up the points.  The beautiful pool of blood in the bottom of the Death Press was beautiful!

The level's music was bad-ass too, from what little I could hear of it.  Visually, the game is sexcellent just like the videos.  Control wise, the game is also awesome as well.  Very simple, very fluid, very CHAINSAW TO YOUR SKULL MOTHERFUCKAAASSS!   8D

Simply put, there is NOTHING wrong with the game, except for the fact that it's not out yet.  It's bought instantly, without question.  It was before, and it's even more so now.

Hehe, I'm going to play it again tomorrow!

Awesome to hear. Now, to find a way to buy this. I turn 17 this year, so it shouldn't be too hard, the problem is how I'd be playing this in front of my grandma all the time, and well, yeah, you can guess >.>

Anyways, speaking of Death Press...XD

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

My grandma's 94 and VERY religious, I don't think displaying so much violence for hours in front of her is a good idea >.>

SEXCELLENT. Glad you enjoyed your time with the game, Blues.

On Monday, I think I'm just going to make it so that I trade in another game (like Sonic Unleashed, which I never cared for any way), so I can completely pay off my Mad World pre-order. It's worth it.  8D

On another note....were you able to accomplish my "mission" for you yesterday? ^_^

EDIT: Over at GAF, the person who posted the "trailer" bit had this contribute.

Quote
The only slight flaw is the camera but it barely becomes anything but a shrug off. Controls are impressive, Wii Speaker is used very well. No More Heroes fans will love the control, feels like a direct evolution of it. Was surprised on how hard the game is later in the demo! Did not see anyone who could beat the first boss.

Madworld is also a challenge in that you are trying to rack up the biggest points by keeping the combo flow going. The more creative you are will your kills and the more you string together, the better you score. The challenging are very puzzle like and having you frenetically multitask. The later enemies can block your attacks (for instance, the crow bars block vertical attacks you have to hit them horizontally with your chain saw) and they swarm you into a multiman boot stomp. It's like a 3D Viewtiful Joe. The bosses seem ass hard and the enemies can also use the environment against you the same way you can. I had an oil drum put on me, and I had to rapidly shake my controller as the boot stomped me until I broke out of it with my chain saw.

The more I read, the more I love...and the more I may have to put myself on a "media black-out"...  8D

Still working on that one.  I mean, I talked to people at the TMNT booth and they claim they had nothing to do with the name.  I still have to see Ubisoft, so here's hoping!  XD

That's cool. How was it meeting those peeps, any way? As long as you didn't mention "Venus de Milo" around Peter Laird, he shouldn't have had to summon ninjas to kill you!  8D

"Put the kids to bed because you don't want them to see this!"

"Did you really want them to see everything up till this point?"

"Well sure, why not? Don't want to raise a society full of pussies!"

Seriously, I can't [tornado fang]ing wait for this game if it promotes more dialog like that.

As it would turn out, Yatsumi Matsuno is the man responsible for MadWorld's "oddly compelling storytelling & scenarios" as IGN put it.

Just thought I'd leave this here for you guys. Dunno how big it might be to RPM due to the amazing amount of contrary opinions, but [tornado fang] if this isn't big overall, especially considering the sheer amount of Japanese dev talent currently working at Platinum Games (Inaba-Mikami-Kamiya-Matsuno).

Quote
One special point of interest is that Madworld's story was developed with help from Yasumi Matsuno (the game designer behind Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy XII) who, it turns out, was tapped by his friend Atsushi Inaba of Platinum to work on the game's scenarios. Given all the experience at Platinum, as well as the experience that Matsuno brings to the table, we're anxious to see how this craziness is going to play out.

Link to the article is here courtesy of Gamespot.

Discuss. Also, I'll leave you all with a more inspired post over at the GAF on the subject:

This is like finding out that Jesus called up his friend Buddha for a quick hard rock jam session of pure awesome.

Ah, it's so great to have a fellow GAFfer on here. Saves us both all the work from posting everything from over there, because one will usually have things covered!  8D

Any way...this is just too awesome. Does this technically mean that MadWorld is technically the first story in the universe of Ogre Battle, now, or what?

Jack and the dudes he's fighting could certainly be construed as "ogres", right?  8D

"Well sure, why not? Don't want to raise a society full of pussies!"

Again, this line alone makes the game an instant buy.  Not to mention than Bender, yes Futurama's Bender, is one of the announcers!   8D

I saw this elsewhere and couldn't believe it. Then I watched the video and couldn't breathe from laughter. XD
Also, the pirates vs. ninjas thing was funny.

Lots and lots of videos here (and plenty of cutscenes).

I know I and everyone says this a lot, but I want this game now! XD
