Why would you Play it?

Lets take this a step farther.

Why would you adknowledge its existance?

Amatiramisu

I heard it was [parasitic bomb] and I was curious.

Hypershell

Playing Super Mario 3D World.  Love it, cat suits are ridiculously adorable.  But I'm cursing the lack of Daisy, both in this game and the "Year of Luigi" games in general.
Also on DeviantArt, Rumble, DLive.tv, and the Fediverse (@freespeechextremist.com and @bae.st)

Strider Xhaiden

My new copy of Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match. So hard to find online matches, though.  O^O
My Twitch channel. Random streams during the week.
Currently streaming: Transformers: Devastation

Blue Valkyrie

Going through the Legacy of Kain series again. After all these years Blood Omen is still a very enjoyable title.

Wind Waker HD impressions while I still can't find Mario 3D World around here...

Everything is faster:

- You can find an optional turbo sail
- Sea related items are always assigned to the d-pad
- Inventory and map are available on the tablet, no need to pause the game constantly
- Text speed is faster
- Some animations, like changing the wind and Grappling Hook, were also tweaked
- Triforce Shard quest is shorter (I'm not there yet though)

So far, those improvements cover pretty much all of my complaints with the original WW.

New stuff:

- Hero mode is a nice addition. I still don't feel that it's necessary to go out and explore the world for extra items like Zelda 1 and LTTP, but I died more than a couple times already, which was impossible in the vanilla release.

- Tingle Bottle is cute. For those who don't know, this item replaces the Tingle Tuner. It allows you to post and receive online messages via "lost" bottles on the shore. You can write, send Pictograph pics, and draw stuff too.

- The graphics are even more breathtaking now. This may be the least necessary HD update for a Zelda game, but the new lighting and shadow work is amazing. I think some of the music was changed too, but maybe it's just me playing with headphones for the first time.

Just finished T.R.A.G. - Tactical Rescue Assault Group: Mission of Mercy. Wasn't bad for an Resident Evil clone, kinda liked it and it was nice little PS1 gem. Now off to this game's New Game+...

Also started playing this gem too.

The Stanley Parable

I have no idea what I'm doing, and I'm loving it. It certainly has some of the wittiest dialog I've ever heard in a game.

Also, you can beat the "game" in under 5 minutes, although there are multiple endings.

Amatiramisu

Skywind. Good mod even if it's just in Alpha. The environments are pretty true to the original. I can say this because I'm playing Morrowind too. I like that, thanks to a secondary mod, I can send my Dovahkiin between Skyrim and Morrowind freely via a rift next to Riften (heheh) to Fus Ro Dah some Nix Hounds.

Mirby

NES Remix. Trying to complete the last challenge, but it's a pain in the ass.

I hate Hammer Bros.

Recently finished A Link Between Worlds. This game is fantastic.

I love the renting system. So much freedom having all items right away (I borrowed the entire store in one visit, haha). There are still some barriers on the overworld, like swimming and rocks, but you can explore like 85% of the map as soon as the store opens. You lose rentals when you die, which IMO doesn't make a lot of sense as a punishment because loading your save solves the problem.

Speaking of puzzles, the 3D wall thing is a fun new gimmick. You start looking at the dungeons in a different way. Eventually the first thing you do when you enter a room is check the terrain near walls. Judging height becomes second nature too, it's really cool.

Glad that warp points are available right from the start.

And dude, the music is so beautiful. I think I like this music even better than A Link to the Past's.

I guess the low difficulty is my only minor complaint, because A Link to the Past kicks my ass every time, and that only makes the game more rewarding and strategic. Regardless, the puzzles and combat are very interesting.

Blue Valkyrie

Feel kinda bad for admitting it but I'm playing ICO for the first time (sorry if this sounds like a review)

Loving it so far, as someone who appreciates the minimalist story telling of games like Demons and Dark Souls I love how how the world is presented in ICO, every room and object tells a story much like the two Souls games, more is said through imagery than dialogue. The lack of music outside certain parts might annoy some but I think it adds to the ambiance of the game, creepy yet oddly soothing to experience if that makes any sense.

The game play is...yeah it's an early PS2 game re-released or not, I find I'm fighting with the camera way too much and combat just isn't fun. But the escort aspect is oddly...something I'm enjoying it not only adds to the puzzle solving but also the ambiance of the game.

Have you played Shadow of the Colossus?

It's by the same team/creator and, IMO, the much, much better game.

Blue Valkyrie

Yeah my PS2 copy is sitting on my shelf nearby, It's definitely the better game play of the two. Although I admit I like ICO's setting a little more, but I'm a sucker for creepy castle/mansion environments in games. That being said some of the locations in SotC were breathtaking for a game of it's era.

Phi

Hell, even now, certain moments in that game are still breathtaking.

The soundtrack still gives me goosebumps.

No arguments there, on another note I had already heard ICO's beautiful ending song and I'm looking forward to seeing it in context with the game's ending.

Ys I & II Chronicles
TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds
Final Fantasy VII

Amatiramisu

Still Skyrim.
And Crysis 1, I guess. I can run it on High, so that's an ego booster. Well not really. But okay.

51 levels done and I still haven't seen the credits in Super Mario 3D World. The game managed to fool me twice with the fake final boss. The last couple of "official" worlds are SO good. Very difficult and creative.

Also, this castle music!

Tried to get some time in on Wind Waker HD but kept getting drawn back to Dark Souls. >w<

The Perfect Run is a piece of cake compared to Champion's Road and Mystery House Marathon in 3D World. Jesus.

I ended up beating both levels with all characters just so I don't have to learn them all over again when I revisit the game.

I really love how challenging the post-game levels are. I can't remember the last time I wanted to throw my controller on the wall for 6 consecutive levels in a Mario game. Awesome stuff.

Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches [Ghost/No-Kill]

Gonna take my brother for birthday shopping today so he's gonna get the vidja games and I might play what he's playing too so yeah
