I need a DS and the actual game.  My saved game isn't on my computer!  But, I'm still loving the hell out of Phoenix Wright.

I suggest getting a DS lite. If you have any GBA games, you can play them on that as well. DSi is restricted to DS games, with no backwards compatibility.

DS Phats are more durable though.

True. But after owning all three versions of the DS, I can say the Phat has the worst screen of the bunch. Especially when you're in a bright place, you can barely see anything on the screen. Both DS lite and DSi have a much brighter display.

I don't understand why the DSi is even a worthwhile option when there's the 3DS. The lite at least, as you said, has the backwards compatibility with the GBA.

I love my DSi and DS Lite~ I gave my DS Phat to Akira with a flash cart. It was a happy day for all~ ^^

My DS Phat hinge is broken, now the screen wobbles whenever I use it.

Is your DS intact?

Other than feeling nicer on your hands overall imo, there really is nothing that the first DS does better than the others at all.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

Because the DSi doesn't have shitty rescaling.

I can't play my DS games on my 3DS because the upscale makes everything so [tornado fang]ing ugly.

That, and I can use my Action replay with my DSi.

Its not like I got rid of my Lite, I kept it for my GBA games since I lost my GBA SP, and the classic GBA is ass.

You are seriously exaggerating, I barely even notice it myself.

Police Girl

Nope.

Native mode is smaller than the original DS screens.

Upscale mode looks like ass, only time I can put up with it is when I was playing Ace Attorney, everything else I've played on there (Pokemon Black/2, Kirby Mass Attack) Looked terrible.

I like dem pixels.

It's very noticeable to me. Namely when you play a game using 3D polygons like SM64. I wouldn't say it becomes ugly, but the upscale makes the colors and pixels stretch out a lot. When playing it on the DS lite, everything is so much crisper and vibrant, as it is in its native resolution.

There is an option on the 3DS to downscale DS games to their native resolution (hold down the Start button when booting up a DS game), but it makes the screen extremely tiny to point where it's not worthwhile to play it.

edit: RMZX mentioned it already

Haha, Shinobi III is freaking awesome.

I love the controls and how you can pull off all kinds of acrobatics anywhere. Wall jump, double jump, wall grab. I'm still getting the hang of the mechanics 'cause this is the first Shinobi game I'm playing since... 1992 or something.

Amatiramisu

Both my brother's DS Phat and my Zelda Triforce DS Lite are broken and with a friend trying to fix them. The lite's probably not salvagable but the phat only has a wonky top screen and a loose hinge.

Police Girl

I don't get how people keep breaking their DSes.

My DSi is the only one with any problems, in that the L+R Buttons hardly work, then I sent it in to get them fixed, and then they stopped working again.

ViperAcidZX

The used ugly white DS Lite that I had (the one before I got the sexier colbolt DS Lite a few Christmas ago) hinge broke and I was gentle as a feather with it. That and L and R buttons broke afterwards (and I only made it worse trying to fix it). The previous owner must of treated it like crap... :|

Thing the only it's good for now is maxing Shanoa's glyth stats in Order of Ecclesia if the Up in the D-pad is competent for enough an entire night without it screwing me over at some point and find Dracula bVd at me in the next morning. Pretty sure Dracula was coming onto me too...

Protoman Blues

Cherrykorock

I've been using the same DSLite since 2006. I don't know how but other than scratches the thing still works like new. Despite various torture over the years.

Kirby Pink

White Knight Chronicles , it´s alright. Only thing that bugs me is the HUGE maps, which is fine, but id rather have a explore rate rather then have the map given to me straight away.

Da Dood

Still playing Genesis stuff. Latest games: Vectorman and Sonic 2.

Vectorman is interesting. The controls are too slippery for my taste and you have to mash the button way too much. Also wish the power-ups were permanent (at least until you die). And the top view stages are sooo lame. Other than that, it's an enjoyable game.

Sonic 2 I already knew. Still great.

Dr. Wily II

Breeding out Lv1 Deinos with Earth Power, Ice Fang, Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse in my White2.

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Mr. Haxwell

Playing something old-school, like Command & Conquer (the original) of a PSX emulator. My brother has the PC version on his Laptop, but I was curious about the PSX's gameplay. Went to GameFaqs and saw some cheats that you can't do with the PC version.

Downloading Dune 2000 for that same emulator.

Fear me.
