Eh I just think Gun Blades are the dumbest weapons ever.

FF8's gunblade is the dumbest weapon ever, it's just a sword with a gun shaped handle that uses vibration or something to cause more damage. The FF13 and 14 versions are basically rifles that transform into a melee weapon or in 14's case a larger take on those old flintlock knife weapons from the pirate days. I don't mind them, they are kinda cool.

Haha, but yea I was thinking Cloud made perfect sense when I realized none of the other 3rd parties besides Mega Man are primarily associated with Nintendo anyways, it's all about iconic status and legacy. That, and picking someone like Cloud is perfect for creating controversy and thus word of mouth. Considering Ryu is promoting Street Fighter V despite its PS4 exclusiveness, I don't see why the same logic wouldn't apply to Cloud.

All things considered, it's pretty hilarious Cloud skipped out on PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale. haha

I'm guessing Red Materia act like Smash Balls, and whoever breaks it gets to use the summon (or rather, is invincible to it). Pretty cool for casual fun. Probably not so much in 1P modes, especially 8player smash against CPUs.
