Is it normal to be this happy and satisfied with life? I mean, everyone around me seems so...emo. I sorta feel guilty being so happy and carefree around them.

Gary Oak was never 'Gary [chameleon sting]ing Oak', this was something made up by the fans that actually has little to do with his real character.

And the original Pokemon isn't all that good, it's that everything was new back then before the repeated a hundred or more times in the coming series. The only thing that would make it seem good is the nostalgia.

Though I doubt you were actually old enough to have seen it when it first aired, so I can only assume you're trying to blend in.

Try not to worry of other people's problems if you can't help them. You can't please everyone and someone out there will suffer no matter what. And if your suffering, deal with it the best you can. I try to think that if I suffer, someone else is really happy, so I try to be as cheerful as that person.

Not from when it first aired, no, but I do remember, from the age of 3, waking up every Saturday morning, racing to the TV, and hoping I could turn on KidsWB before my sister could get to the TV. And what else? My 14 year old older brother did it with me. MY childhood memories did not consist of WHOO, BAKUGAN, and WHOO, HOT WHEELS, or WHOO, BOOBIES, like much of the current generation.

As a collector of various shiny objects, I object to this. While I don't watch the anime, I do collect the stuff that came from it. They go with my pokemon, star wars, and mega man figures pretty damn well. So yeah.

Hot wheels on the other hand, I can live without.. but I couldn't miss the sweet Rockman EXE deco car they had.

You think that was bad (I don't mean that in any bad way or anything, just starting a story here)? My grandmother from my mother's side died a year ago. I barely knew her because I could barely speak Korean. All of a sudden, she succumbs to cancer, and I realize that I could never say anything to her, not even to tell her that I was sorry that I wouldn't make an effort to at least embarrass myself speaking just a sentence of Korean.

And when she did die, I didn't feel anything. I didn't cry at her funeral.

While I -did- gave up on other things, it was because of either intrest/life/etc. But no need to stick in a sentence I didin't write. Oh well. We all have diffrent attention spans, but it seemed that trying to draw animu took waay too much time (for a span between early 20??/'99-2011, that's a LONG time..)
