As someone who's never played a Monster Hunter game, would 3 Ultimate be a good starting point? My brother didn't want his copy, he couldn't get into the game or enjoy it, so he gave it to me as something to look forward to playing on my new New 3DS this Christmas.

I hear Generations is basically a "Greatest Hits" version of MH.
