Just finished it. Great series. It's a damn shame it never really caught my attention when it was airing over here on MTV, together with Escaflowne, Golden Boy and Lupin III. Truely, this thing is it's own genre.

9.0

I hope you watched the dub of it.

German DVD set did not have the English dub on it. Watched it in Japanese. The German dub is also surprisingly good.

Ah okay.  If you get a chance, I highly recommend watching the English Dub of it.  It is the best version of it.  Even the creator says so.

Steven Blum or whoever?

Flame

Hmm. Since Ghost in the Shell intrigued me, I'm watching Stand alone complex.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

You should rather watch the Innocence movie if you like the original film, since Stand Alone Complex has nothing to do with the GitS movie, completely different continuity IIRC.

Protoman Blues

I like both the movies & SAC.  Saber's right though.  The movies & SAC series are two different continuities.

What was Stand Alone Complex again, a timeline where the puppetmaster incident never happened?

Flame

I know that much. Ive read up on it on Wikipedia. they're both different continuities. But GitS is GitS. And it is awesome. I also have Innocence DL'd. Im gonna watch it too.

I was actually surprised the intro song and ending song were not japanese (SAC) but one English (ending) and the other... German?(not sure.)

Well, in Solid State Society, they bring in someone named the Puppetmaster, but it's not the same thing, so yeah I'd assume so.

Actually, I just found out its Russian. It has Russian and English lyrics. And the singer is Japanese.
Now THERES a mix.

Oh, you mean Inner Universe?

Flame

Yes, Inner Universe. The song I instantly MP3 Player'd.
Awesome song it is.

The CG intro is nice too. A CG series would probably be interesting.

BTW, there's supposed to be a live action film being made by Spielberg for 2011

Honestly, all of SAC has [tornado fang]ing fantastic music, once again proving that Yoko Kanno can do NO wrong when it comes to Anime soundtracks.

Flame

Indeed. the in show soundtrack never fails either.

Dr. Wily II

Finished Kodomo no Jikan Second Term.
Lolis will be lolis. XD

Also, finished Hayate no Gotoku Second Season.
The last ep, with Miku dancing to Caramelldansen, and blatant uncensored references to Gundam 00... Just perfect. XD

Plus, K-ON!'s Ura-On! ep2.

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Flame

Finished Stand alone complex, and am probably going to either watch Innocence, or 2nd Gig.

I really liked how they used the scene from the end of the first movie.

All in all, awesome series.

Tachikoma... ;_;

Rise is vastly superior.

LoL, not VASTLY, but I probably like Rise more myself!   :P

Date of Rebirth is pretty [tornado fang]ing awesome too.

Flame

Rise is pretty cool, but I do like Inner universe. Aren't they by the same singer anyway?

Yep.  Origa.

She did this too!  I love this song.
