Didn't feel like making a new topic, so I thought I'd just briefly interrupt this one to say R.I.P. to Nujabes, one of the people who worked on the Samurai Champloo soundtrack, which is one of my favorite anime soundtracks ever.  Samurai Champloo is probably in my Top 3 favorite animes of all time.  I was just listening to this soundtrack last night and to me, his work on the soundtrack just made the anime that much better.  Some of his tracks...

This last one wasn't from Samurai Champloo.  Now, I know they're aren't many rap fans on RPM, but I can't stress enough how this one song is infinitely better than the majority of rap that comes out today.  Well, sorry to interrupt the topic and please continue on.

Finished Clannad After Story. The ending is a pretty big copout. But the ride is an emotional rollercoaster. I've almost cried on numerous occasions. Just waiting to see the other extra episodes now, and then wait for the dub.

Watched Evangelion 1.0 last night. It was pretty good. Although cause I haven't seen the original in forever, I've forgotten a lot. Half the time I as saying to myself "Is that new? I don't remember that."

Posted on: March 21, 2010, 22:40:19Jeez, the Clannad dub came out really damn quick. 2 episodes a week, too. I only watched the first one so far, though.

The only real problem is Sunohara. I think Greg Ayres could pull off the role, but he's just using the wrong voice. He's using the wimpy kid voice for a character that isn't that young. It's especially jarring when you hear him next to some other characters; they sound too adult by comparison. Kyou's the best example of that. I think casting Shelley Black was the perfect choice, she pulls off the bitchy mood really well, but she does sound a bit older than the character looks. Tomoyo has a similar issue, but not nearly as bad. Everyone else sounds really good. I enjoyed Matrenga's take on Tomoya. Sanae sounds perfect. And when I read the cast list and saw Luci Christian, I was like "Oh no, not again." I'm surprised, she pulled off Nagisa pretty nicely. The voice isn't as squeaky as in Japanese, but it still fits the character. And looking ahead, I think no one else could dub Fuko's voice other than Hilary Haag.

I felt the 1st season focused on blended action and comedy. Fumoffu I felt focused more on the comical aspects, while The second Raid is more about action/drama. It's a good series!

Because L was the level of brilliant that there's absolutely no chance anyone besides Kira could come close to him and any of his successors can't possibly compare?

Also, because I'm weird and I relate to the weird characters. L is a weird character.

Yea, L's successor Near does come close, but it's not exactly the same cat and mouse game. Light just has too much of an advantage here.

I felt the 1st season focused on blended action and comedy. Fumoffu I felt focused more on the comical aspects, while The second Raid is more about action/drama. It's a good series!

I have to say that it is more dramatic with Tessa exploding straight at Souske, and the younger sister of those two evil ones getting her armed ripped off, then both of them blowing up, and the epic black guy.
Also Fummoffu was overall a funny season, that student council guy with the white hair was hilarious when he translated what that punk was saying. And the way he handled Souske's over the top ways of handling school life.

Finished Casshern Sins this week. I really liked the atmosphere and tone of the series. I seem to remember an official thread floating about on the site, I'll leave a more in depth review there in a bit.

Before watching episode 2 of Clannad dubbed, I realized that there was a very good possibility they'd [tornado fang] up the Big Dango Family song. And yeah, they kinda did. I mean, it's better than Wendee Lee's take on God Knows, but yeah. As expected, Hilary Haag sounds good as Fuko. Kotomi doesn't sound as awkward as I expected her to, which may be a good thing, actually. Let's just hope this girl can scream bloody murder.

Toradora SOS is finally completely subbed, and it's food discussion and FYI.
Queen's Blade specials are still going on into season 2... And it's still just as lolwuttheheck.
Shana S ep2 is very heartwarming, and Shanatan dos is just so lolworthy.

It's an OK watch, though the climax left me wanting a bit more.

Pity she died. Horribly too.
