Anyway, this is the chrysalis that I'm taking care of.

I looked it up and it appears to be a painted lady chrysalis.  I'll know for sure when the butterfly emerges.

I learned that a Gand/Human relationship is indeed canon and it's not just me reading too much into a story.

I learned today -- just 40 minutes ago, in fact -- two things.
1. The Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) plug we have hooked into a circuit down here is indeed working correctly.
2. Our sump pump is shot.

Here's how the story went:
At around 5:05 AM, the entire downstairs family room shut up, save for the lamp in the corner.  This happened because the GFCI plug that keeps the circuit from frying got tripped by a sudden surge of energy.
Now, this plug is the one to which our modem and router are connected, so that knocked me right offline.  Not knowing what to do, I asked the electrician of the house (who was just about to go to bed) what he thought happened.  One thorough investigation (through process of elimination) later and we found our culprit.

As it turns out, the sump pump we have -- which is connected on this circuit -- gave out after two years of barely doing anything.  Apparently, it has water in it, causing it to short circuit, so any time it tried to run, the GFCI plug would trip and, you know, prevent the whole circuit from frying.

All I have to say is God bless GFCIs.  :D

I learned that my butterfly emerged from its chrysalis some time last night while I was asleep.

It's like the Wii actually released with those neat controllers it was rumored to have, way before the Remote and dongle system came to light.

I have no idea what you're talking about and am qualifying it as the usual nonsense, but I only said that because I went to the Wii U Experience and got some time to try it out for myself.

I remember pictures emerging during the Wii's development of controllers with touchscreens in them, but then one day they released pictures of the Wii Remote etc.

Oh, well they looked pretty much the same as the Wii U's. I kinda wonder if they were fake pictures that Ninty emulated, or if they had scrapped their first idea to go Remote dongle.

I learned a number of things today.

1.  A local candy shop sells chocolate-covered bacon.

2.  Chocolate-covered bacon is delicious.

3.  That shop also sells chocolate-covered insects and candy-coated scorpions.

4.  Different types (mealworm versus cricket) add a different distinction to the chocolate, based on exoskeleton and habitat.

5.  My new glasses will be ready in a couple weeks.

6.  My eye doctor looks like Noah Wyle from ER.

Some day, I will learn how many licks it takes to get to the scorpion center of a scorpion pop.

[implied scorpion consumption]
*flails and freaks out*  That's nasty!  That is so nasty!  I can't even find the words to describe how nasty that is!

The chocolate-covered bacon, on the other hand, sounds heavenly.  *_*

You do realize that many insects and arachnids, such as crickets and huge spiders, are eaten around the world as a delicacy mostly in Mexico and Central America right.  Most of the time they aren't covered in chocolate and eaten with nothing on them and sometimes eaten live.  Then again I wouldn't eat them either.

Anyway I found out I need to learn how to write better outlines.

The chocolate-covered bacon is indeed heavenly.  It is absolutely delicious.

I have not yet tasted the scorpion, though.  Saving that for a special occasion.

Just because I'm aware of this doesn't mean I have to like it.  D:  But in particular, I hate hate hate hate hate scorpions!  They're like... armored spider-crabs with poison stingers!  Do not want any piece of that action.  >_<

Yeah I've never really seen a Scorpion, but I definitely would have the same reaction you do if I do see one suddenly.  Probably similar to the first time I saw a potato bug before I found out they're beneficial to plants.

Tyranitar can learn Surf. I was surprised, considering a drop of water's pretty damaging to it normally.

Not really.  There are certain species that I maintain a respect for, as they are dangerous and I respect that and therefore avoid them, but I don't fear them.  However, I do think maggots are icky.  I don't fear them, I can stand to watch them, and there were times when I was forced to actually handle them.  Though, it doesn't change the fact that I think that they're icky.

Why you so brave, Q-chan?  Why you so brave?  Makes me ashamed to call myself a man, given I have an abject fear of arachnids (except tarantulas, oddly) and I think a lot of marine life is just horrible.  Jellyfishes, man.  What the funk.  *shudder*

Let's see...  I've swam with moon jellies (and have been stung by them) when a swarm of them washed up in Delaware.  Otherwise, I enjoy watching them swim.  They're peaceful and mesmerizing and relaxing to watch.

You can also eat jellyfish.

I also like stingrays.  Scratch that; I love stingrays.  They're so cute and social.
