I learned two things today. During the same span of time!
- I learned that "Manual Labor" isn't just the name of your groundskeeper.
- I learned what it feels like to be shot in the gut with a rock.
We were doing up much-needed upkeep on our property today. I moved a lot of wood and yanked/chopped a lot of weeds. My associate also chopped weeds, but with riding mower. I just happened to be standing several feet away when apparently, a rock got lodged in the in-take and was subsequently propelled at my side. It hurt for a couple minutes, but was fine after. It did leave a nice, pink welt, though.
Our yard and garage has never looked so nice before, I swear. Granted, we only cleaned up the yard because our insurance company suggested it (apparently, random garbage and machinery outside of the garage located in a house in the middle of a forest is considered a "tripping hazard"...), but the end results, I feel, were totally worth the two hours of effort.
