Closure for Dr. Wily, and further confirmation that Sigma is really truly not going to appear again. And of course the mysterious plot thread X8 left behind, Axl and his tentacle headache and that.

Story and final boss aside:

1. One good armor for X
2. X, Z, and A all get REAL ultimate armors with post-game Invincibility option for fun-running
3. Closure on the Zero/Wily connection and Axl/virus subplot by having one or both go Maverick at the end of 4-8 stages, defeat 'em, brings 'em back
4. Parts/store only contains alternate weapons, Gigas, and Life/Weapon+'s to a maximum point
5. Post-game unlockable subweapons; X can use the Z-Saber and A-Guns, Zero can use the X-Buster and A-Guns, Axl can use the X-Buster and Z-Saber

I'm sure there's more...

I swear to god if someone mentions characters being killed off, im going to explode.

on the matter of Alia, her X8 design was nice, but I preferred her hair from the X6 flashback, where it was back, not over her shoulders.

I'll give you that. Then again, Alia looks good no matter what she does with her hair.

Killing Axl off isn't going to fix things, either. His gameplay's already been fixed, and whatever his character is like really shouldn't matter. Though seeing him as the proposed final boss would be interesting. Oh yeah, and that would retcon Command Mission.

Anyway, though I do like X8's shop system, I do want to see the return of Heart Tanks and Sub Tanks collectable in stage. If you give me that and that 2 player co-op function they've been "promising" since X7, I'll be quite content.

There was an error in your post that makes your opinion wrong. I fixed it for you so you don't have to worry.  ;)

I want to see something that hasn't been done before. Like a character dying and coming back later like Jesus Christ. And what if we gave X a saber, too? It could totally work guys. We also need a new character with an annoying voice to form a cheesy plot device that we can all see coming around. Not to mention robots with the ability to form scar tissue!

My point? I'm going to play it if it happens, but I really don't see what's left for it. I don't want closure or a bridge to a different series which capcom seems to have a hard on for. What I do want is the same formula that made X1 fun, less story and cheesy plots that don't quite fit.

Sometimes being the bigger man means holding the bigger weapon!

I agree on collectible items in stages. It gives the stages some replay value.

Also I hate this final boss Axl Idea. Seriously, It reeks of fanon. bad fanon.

Then explain why there's no direct link between Classic and X outside of the arcade games.

Why and how would the game's playable character turn out to be the final boss? He can't fight himself.

It simply defeats the purpose of making Axl a player character to begin with. It's ridiculous to remove a player character with its own unique playstyle by making him the final boss. It hurts the game by having the player unable to use him in the final battle, and it would hurt the game even more if he were removed even more; X8 had 3 distinct gameplay styles, X9 needs to equal that at the very least.

Since it's the same & only gameplay I know of that dictates that the main character of a series has to be unlocked in order to use him, I'd say anything is possible.

But what if you could play as Axl as the final boss?  XD

You know, I just thinking about the one thing I missed the most in X8:

-CHARACTER THEME SONGS.  I love that the Ride Armor got its own theme music.  But come on, X, Zero, and Axl need some lovin too.

And more:

-Lucas Gilbertson as Zero.  Really, there's no one else.
-Hair-down Alia.  Don't really care if it's back or over the shoulders.
-Please kill the X8 redesigns.  With the exception of Alia, they suck.
-Mugshots/conversation art that actually displays X's armor properly (has not been done since X6).
-2-player co-op (hey, we can dream)
-Double Charge Wave.  Playable.  From Zero.
-Some power-up that allows limitless ground dashing.
-Proper air-dash momentum (try learning something from Xtreme2, please).

Must have Dynamo pull a GBD at some point in the last stages.  8D
Dynamo cannot die.  He is the Robin Spitz-Swallows of MegaMan (yay, X6 Nightmare Soul camping).
