Plus he's too smart to get himself killed. Because then he cant make money or pester X and Zero, can he?

I agree on character theme songs. Though I usually saw intro stage themes as their themes songs. (except for X8, where it was just one theme for the stage, not characters.)

I want REAL ride chasers back. I wasnt too fond of the X7 X8 ones... But maybe thats just me. I enjoy 2D ride chaser segments. :P
I want the Eagle, Raiden, Raiden ll, and maybe Gouden. (is that the X7 blue one's name?) I was kinda fond of those. Especially Eagle I miss it. Cyclops was cool, but meeh.. Dunno. It didnt connect with me.

I didnt like SOMETHING about it. Dunno what. Also, am I the only one who feels that the faces remind me of the Pheonix Wright Artstyle?

I pretty much agree with you there.. Alhough..

- I do kinda like to see short-haired-flashback Alia hair mixed with her hair-down look. Then again, she ain't a barbie doll (well, capcom's.. yes.  :\)


- A plot point similar to NT, after the credits you get two mysterious people that you already know, having a conversation, hinting the next game (with that little to be continued in.. Megaman X: Command Mission after it's done)

- A suprise GBD comeback

- Dr Cain (Seriously, where the bloody hell is this man, is he in his summer home again?)

You know, I just thinking about the one thing I missed the most in X8:

-CHARACTER THEME SONGS.  I love that the Ride Armor got its own theme music.  But come on, X, Zero, and Axl need some lovin too.


...Didin't Vile get his own theme? And Sigma? Oh well.

The thing I didn't like was that the design made her look kind of... "ditzy", would be the word, I guess. I don't know about the artstyle, but I did also find some of their seemed rather different, especially Alia's.

Well, X7 did that with MMZ.  It depends.  You don't want to get into too direct a link, or else you wind up writing yourself into a corner.  XCM is a time when the Class S Hunters were split up, supporting cast dropped off the face of the Earth, and Force Metal is abound.  Since it was made to be distanced from the main series to begin with, you probably don't want to force yourself out of writing main-series games before it.

I liked it, but the original's just as good.  Ditzy?  She's got nothing on Peach.

My point exactly.

Also, it'd be nice to re-use said intro stage theme for the final stage.  That was one of those subtle touches of X2 that I really enjoyed, and no other game did it.

Cyclops is frikkin' awesome if only because of the manner in which X8 stepped up general Ride Armor abilities.  LIMITLESS GROUND DASH, invulnerability to most projectiles, and ground-stomping damage.  To say nothing of theme music.  All very, very kickass.

Now, if you could apply all of that to any armor, I'd go for Kangaroo.  Nothing like spiked fists on a wire.

I meant your playable characters.  X, Zero, and Axl.  In previous games they each had a unique intro level theme (assuming they were available for the intro stage, anyway).

Yeah.  You could just have Axl fight X or Zero and have them pull a Hail-Mary even after he wins.  You would have to momentarily kill the character-swap, but that's not a big deal.  Xtreme2 did it.

I say "or", because I do not believe that any non-Supra-Force-Metal Reploid should be engaging a post-X1 X and Zero at the same time and stand the slightest chance of victory.  It's been well established since Xtreme2 that that's suicide.

As for gameplay, X8 made Axl more different from X but I do feel that Axl could stand to be touched up.  Advent's shpiel of copying bosses would be cool if better implemented.  Also, he should be using both pistols in his attacks.

[tornado fang] that. They just need to make them work better. While I'll defend X8's Ride Chasers to the grave, I do concede they were better in X2,4,and 5.

I really don't like X4's and X5's.

X2's was okay, but I think it was put in a very obstacle loaded segment, so it was more a vehicle than it was fun.

Put the X2 Ride Chaser in a flatter, but appropriately-trapped stage that would otherwise be very long on foot, and give you the option of clearing it either way.

And yes, for the love of Snickers, CO-OP! And Versus!

My list:

  • A good arsenal of special weapons
  • X5-6's ability to stock 2 armors at once
  • 2 player co-op
  • Multiple weapons for Zero like in X8
  • Shadow-dashing  8)

Cyclops is frikkin' awesome if only because of the manner in which X8 stepped up general Ride Armor abilities.  LIMITLESS GROUND DASH, invulnerability to most projectiles, and ground-stomping damage.  To say nothing of theme music.  All very, very kickass.

Cyclops is the first ride armor that actually felt realistic.  Bullets bouncing off, crushing enemies, underfoot, etc.; that's how a ride armor should feel.  Some of the precious ones felt like an extra lifebar with mobility limitations.  That said, I wouldn't mind some of the previous armors showing up.  Eagle and Kangaroo were pretty nice, and Raiden wasn't too shabby either.  Frog was downright terrible, though.

I'm not really into the idea of copying bosses, as they generally feel really bulky.  Heck, the only ones in Advent I used at all were Buckfire and Hedgeshock.  They should expand the amount of reploids that Axl can copy, and make them a bit more usable; it'd be pretty nice to be able to fight Mavericks as a generic reploid.  Dual pistols sound nice, but I'm not really sure how that would be implemented in a platforming environment.

Me neither.  I didn't really find the other navigators that useful overall, either; felt more like a fan-service thing than if anything else.  Playing as them was pretty pointless as well, unless you just wanted 2 of each character.  They should've had more unique playing styles or something.

Not as a final boss, and Awakened Zero scenario never happened storywise.
IOW, he can be a boss as long as he is still playable afterward.

That was pretty awesome. The ability to freeze enemies in place with the Blue cyclops was kickass too, but its brokenness kind of downplayed the use responsibly thing. In X1-7 you had to make sure you used it right or you'd lose it. especially in X5. Though its almost impossible to really take that much damage on it in Mattrexes stage... honestly.
hmm. Also, the Cyclops' air dash was pretty lengthy as well.

combine X8 Axl with Command mission Axl maybe? I do agree that he could stand to be more than a Bass clone with a hover. Also, his Copy ability has not really been that usefull in either X7 or 8... Though i liked how in 7, while you coldnt copy the form of enemies not your size, you could get an ability from them temporarily. X8 could have used that. only in CM has his transform been extremely useful.

That's... not an excuse. The fact is they had him as a boss and one outcome is that you can't use Zero from then on, storyline or not (although I kinda wish that's how it happened officially).

Awakened Zero scenario did not happen, thus Zero is still with us, since the hunter vs Hunter has the outcome of both of them living. Plus he still wasnt a final boss. also, seriously? That would have been even worse that the actual Zero death.

what Id like, is to be able to explore hunter base. As in, when you are not doing a stage, you can run around hunter base and do stuff. Id love to see how it looks from the inside. And well, it wouldnt be a bad Idea to be able to OPTIONALLY spar with Zero Axl or X. hmmm. the only problem I see with that- is the character you are inside hunter base. logic would dictate X, but then you cant fight X. unless you can select it like any other stage and choose who goes there.
