This year's ninth issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce on Wednesday that a "Lupin III vs. Conan" television special will bring together the most famous manga thief and one of the most popular manga detectives. An original story revolving around a treasure will unite the two heroes from Monkey Punch and Gosho Aoyama's manga stories for a "legendary match."

You should be ashamed of yourself to not even bother to quote your sources (ANN). Anyway, this looks interesting. I gave up on Conan long ago, not because it wasn't good, but because it was too long with the story development dragging on for ages. I've seen some Lupin III specials and liked it, so this is something I'll be looking forward to.

You sure you're talking about the actual Lupin III anime series or the various specials which were cut into several pieces and turned into pseudo-series which aired on MTV a few years ago, together with Escaflowne and the like?

I enjoyed watching 3 seasons of the show and pretty much every special out there.
The NES and SNES games were fun too. I should try and find the PS2 games somewhere.

Fun to see how two masterminds can work together. There's gonna be so much goofiness all over this. x3

Lupin the third vs Conan?! This is what I have waited for, for such a along time. Will Conan manage to capture Lupin and bring him to justice for good? I think not.

Ah RTL 2, the channel where I could watch the newer seasons of Pokemon when they wasn't available here.

And Pro 7 had Ruby Spear's Mega Man!

Uh, me dropping Conan had nothing to do with RTL2 but with the series itself. Conan has over 500 episodes now, but the story still does not seem to reach it's climax anytime soon. There like 30 episodes of random cases coming on one episode with any development of the story.

This is different. DBZ had battles which had some connection to the plot, they were just stretching the development. Conan on the other hand is just random crime cases which are solved by Conan, these have never any relation to the plot with the Black Organization and those that do are rare.

So you watched on RTL2 pokemon? I say you it is better to watch the japanese version, since 4kids and most RTL2 ruined them.
Also if I guess right, you are capable to read and to speak german, right?

The Pokemon anime is pretty bad. It was once original, but just like the games, it never changed.

I'd say you should go for the Manga, the uncensored one if possible. It's better overall.

sounds more like Inuyasha, in that case. 10 or so monster-of-the-day episodes, a couple with Naraku, he supposedly is defeated, rinse+repeat.

Naraku: Now that I've become stronger than inuyasha's wind scar, I'm strangely not going to kill him with my own power, but leave him and think up some devious plot with weaker demons than myself to kill the said inuyasha who may or may not become stronger over that course of time.

Conan does have a really big plot problem, he's STILL a kid. If they wanted to keep the show going, they could've easily solved his mystery, and then kept telling detective stories.

However, the show's popular and with all the creative cases, I can see why. It's just, it never seems like the show will end, which kind of sucks. $:\$

Conan's probably gonna catch Lupin, only to have Lupin escape. Then Conan and Lupin stop the murderer or something. :/
