I just tried it out. Yep, PS1 discs work, all right.

I'll have to look into buying some PS1 games I haven't had the chance to play, unless they're available as PSone Classics.

It's one of those features that weren't exactly readily apparent. Somehow the PS2 compatibility removal had everyone presume it couldn't play PS1 games either, at least no one I know realized it.

If the PS1 games in my brother's collection works (I still didn't get a chance to test it out), it looks like I'll be able to relive old classics on actual hardware.

My brother's is the late slim model and it loaded FF9 just fine.

This is so awesome! Already got the PS1 version of MML and I never got to own MML2 so I hope it hits PSN soon enough, I did play MML on PS3 for a bit but having it on the go is great as well!

So, being on sale for only two days during the month of September, the PSN release of Legends still took the #5 spot for PS1 classics for the month. And it got the #1 spot for PS1 classics in October.

Take THAT, nay-sayers.
