The Mana-Verse

Sakura stopped singing when she finally noticed Riagan's snoring.  She looked ahead and saw the other pigs already asleep and looked to her left seeing her Father had dozed off as well before she looked around to the rest of the room. Everywhere she looked she saw everyone was finally asleep.  She then looked to the bundle in her arms which was sleeping peacefully.  Feeling exhausted herself Sakura laid down with the Spoink still in her arms and shut her eyes before finally drifting to sleep herself.

(Unlike the others that one is wild, and while it is a bit cowardly it will not hesitate to levitate and drop someone if threatened.)

[Okay, so, taking a break from coding after a period of being brain-fried... I take it camp has been set up?]

(Everyone is camped inside a barn for the night, fast asleep. Shuu should be resting, as well.)

As the party slumbered Aya continued to keep watch, she felt what ever was causing the storm must be reasonably close by. The barn wouldn't hold up to a direct attack if the source decided to strike Aya thought to herself as she quietly raised her barrier and stepped through the door into the darkness beyond.

Glancing back and forth she focused on the mana causing the storm hoping to pinpoint it.

Susanoo, also not sleeping, approached Aya, his tail swishing. "You do not smell like the other yamkin* whom you and Gonsol are allied with." He spoke, raising his nose to the winds to smell the mana of the storm. "Almost as if you are one of those from the stories my peoples' elders speak of..."

[*Yamkin is the daemons' catch-all word for the humanoid races (humans, elves, dwarves, etc), and literally translates to 'short life'.]

Outside in the blizzard, a lone Cheval Joe was observing. After a bit, it rode back into Heimdall. The community is mostly frozen into human popsicles, with Freeze Master and Blizzard Master still doing their thing. The Cheval Joe rode up to the two, and reported its findings.

"So... The heroes are all holed up in a barn not far from here... Freezzzzzzzze..."

"Should we attack them now?"

"... Yes. We should. Send out the next wave of Cheval Joes! FREEZZZZZZZZZZZE!"

The Cheval Joe saluted to Freeze Master, and rode out.


Back near the barn, the revving of engines could be heard in the distance.

(I'll be late to respond to any updates today. Just wing it, the ratio this time is 2:1, 2 Chevals Joes per hero/ine.)

(Dammit Wily, we barely rested! )

(That's the point! Plus... I have to keep up appearances! )

((Nah, he's set.  He has torches and paste and volatile substances, and is in a barn full of hay, dried-up old wood, various implements, and possible some type of fuel oil stored somewhere.  Oh, and paint.  Prof could set the whole damn place ablaze with very little effort if he got bored.))

"You're people know the Arcadians?" Aya raised an eyebrow as she stopped to speak to deamon. "Yes, I'm not like the others" she stretched her wings to make the point. "I'm a guardian created by my people." She paused as she heard the reeving of engines in the distance. "Do you hear that?"

Susanoo narrowed his eyes at Aya. "It was thought that the Maokin* went extinct long ago..." He said, turning his attention to the sounds the guardian mentioned. "I hear it. Even through these drenched winds." The spikes along his back started growing. "I will impede the coming of any intruders."

[*Maokin is the daemon word for Arcadians, specifically the guardians like Aya. It means 'hollow life' and can possibly be seen as derogatory by those who speak the daemons' tongue.

And yes, I'll be making one of these explanations every time a new word is introduced until I put together a daemon dictionary.]

((Prof is deaf as a post, so someone may need to wake him up.))

((Yes sounds good for any terms.))

"Lets wake up the others." Aya heads over to shake awake up Sakura "We have company."

[Mr. Haxwell]

Riyalie - "Toshi!" trying to wake up Toshi, in her spirit form "Toshi... get up!"

Apparently Toshi kept mumbling in her sleep.

Grifter - "Let me try." the Pidgeot spirit stepped in, moving closer to her ear; throwing his voice by uttering a phrase, that sounded oddly familiar to Toshi, but offensive.

Still fast asleep...
Toshi - "[tornado fang] OFF DADDY!" she cursed as she swung her fist at Grifter, only to phase through him, slamming the floor hard, waking her up from the sudden pain in her fist. "Ow... Goddamnit!"

Riyalie looked upon Toshi with utter shock, as if it was the first time she actually heard Toshi curse in such a way.

Grifter - "Don't worry she'll get over it." he smirked, as Riyalie glared at him.

(I'm just putting something random to wake Toshi; whether it's meant to be related to her father, or not.)

(You might want to change that phrase......it's kind of......really squicky in that context......really squicky.....like sexually abusive context squicky.....)

"Aya *yawn* what's going on?  Are there more Chevals out there?" Sakura said sleepily as the Spoink woke up as well and started to shiver.

Calien awakened as well with a grumble and a sour look on his face as he tried to listen over the sound of the storm to determine what's coming.

"Yeah.....it's definitely more Chevals." Calien said with irritation "I should have known we wouldn't get a decent rest, but at least we have something to take our frustrations out on."
