The Mana-Verse

[Mr. Haxwell]

Toshi - "So you're telling me the town knows nothing about the Order's corruption?" She seemed confused as to how the Order's being good and corrupt at the same time. "Or are they just pretending to be nice, just to hide the truth?"

[Fxeni]

"That would explain why this town is as far behind as it is. Other areas are well more advanced than this, and they don't have this... Order... in charge," Fxeni chimes in after listening in quietly. He looks out the nearby window. "Most other places embrace the magick within all of us... not here though. They speak of witches as if it's inherently bad. Hence why we'll need to practice restraint here, and if my hunch is right, the rest of the way to Skull Cove."

[Sakura Leic]

"I think it's the latter." Calien replied. "I was with a Friar all day and he was very cordial to me, though he glanced at my eyes in a very uncomfortable way at times."

"This place is scary." Sakura shuddered "I really don't like it here."

[Blue Valkyrie]

"So I'd be best not to ask about the floating city then?" Aya added. "Not sure I can do much about not standing out though." She pinches the edges of her pants a style of clothing that doesn't fit Iron Gate at all.

[Sakura Leic]

"Maybe we should add new clothes for some of the ladies to the list of things to get tomorrow." Calien sighed. "But yeah definitely don't ask about the Floating City."

"I hope they have something that's easy to move in." Sakura sighed.

[Blue Valkyrie]

"Well as long as I don't use my weapon in public people shouldn't suspect me for being from the sky right" Aya shrugs obviously not wanting to stop wearing a perfectly comfortable set of clothing.

[Mr. Haxwell]

Toshi - "I'm with Sakura here, but I hate to be picky on what to wear though." scratching the side of her neck with her finger, she feels uncertain as what to do about her situation of covering up. "I'm only used to wearing short clothing that fits me well."

[Phi]

"What about Salem?" Pema pointed to her staff, "I can still have him with me, right?"

[Sakura Leic]

"It would be better to keep him hidden somehow." Calien stated.

(Does Pema have a backpack?)

[Phi]

(No. She has fairly large pockets, though not big enough to conceal a staff.)

"Umm, but I don't have anywhere to hide him," Pema bit her lip nervously, "Maybe if someone had a backpack I could use, it could work..."

[Sakura Leic]

"Hmm Professor do you have an extra backpack in here?" Calien asked.

[Quickman]

The short monk was just listening quietly, only really half-hearing what they said. When he was addressed, he stood.

"Oh, oh, oh, yes, yes, of course!"

He went straight to one of the doors and disappeared into the other room.  When he emerged a few moments later, he held out a large leather bag.   It smelled of resin and had a waxy texture, and was dotted with smudges of dirt and soot.

"This one, this one wasn't as... protected as my current.  Some, some things combusted, yes?"

[Sakura Leic]

"That should work well enough." Calien nodded "I mean I don't think her staff would have a tendency for spontaneous explosions. Especially since it's sentient."

[Phi]

Pema took the bag from the Professor, her nose scrunched up from the smell of resin.

"It smells a little funny, but yeah, it should be good enough. Thank you, Professor Bunny!" She smiled, shouldering the bag.

[Quickman]

"Quite welcome, Peta!" Either he didn't hear the nickname, or he didn't care.

"You know, you know, I, I d-don't think I've got all your names," his pointed ears swiveled forward and he scratched at them.

[Blue Valkyrie]

"My name is Aya, I'm from--uhh well the city from the sky." Deciding now was as good a time as any to bring it up to an expert of the precursors.

[Phi]

Pema placed her hands on her hips, glaring at the Professor, "No, my name is Pema! Peh-ma!" she annunciated.

[Sakura Leic]

"I'm Sakura." Sakura smiled as she took off her hat showing her pointed ears "I'm half human."

"Name's Calien." Calien said as he took off his bandana showing his ears "I'm....not from around here."

[Quickman]

"So, so... Yaya, Payment, Galleon, and Chakra!" The Professor pointed to each as he repeated their names—or rather what he heard their names to be.

He finally noticed Calien's and Sakura's ears. "Yes, yes, you were wise to hide them.  Don't want to invite unwanted... questions, yes?"

He pointed at Toshi, "Your name, may I ask?"

[Fxeni]

Fxeni chuckled at the professor's mishearings. Quite the interesting one, that one, he thinks to himself as he listens.

[Quickman]

He then pointed to Fxeni. "Your name as well?  I'm, I'm not very good with r-remembering names, I'm afraid."

[Sakura Leic]

"Her name is Toshi and his name is Fxeni." Sakura told him "Oh and this is Yin and Bianca in case you didn't hear those either."

Calien in the mean time chuckled when he heard 'Payment'.

[Quickman]

"So, so, so, if I'm hearing you correctly... Tushy, Foxy, Ying, and Bonka!"

He dug around in his ear with his knuckle. "My lab, my lab, you see... It can get quite loud.  I've, I've, I've... detonated my experiments often."

[Sakura Leic]

"Yeah I can understand that." Sakura nodded as Calien started to chuckle even harder at the mention of the other names, especially Tushy and Bonka.

[Fxeni]

"I'm somehow not too surprised," Fxeni said. "As long as it's only your hearing that's injured though, I guess it could be worse."
