Yeah the Triforce like object broke and released a hypocritical demi human who wants to kill the gods, destroy the world, make a new world, and become it's god.

However since the Triforce like object broke Chaos is going to make things go nuts so now we have to collect the 6 pieces scattered around the world.

[Sapphire Knight]

I see. So what kind of chaos is the world thrown into? If it involves things like random holes in space Sapph could just fall through one. o3o

[Sakura Leic]

So far it's stuff that makes animals go nuts and stuff.  But there's probably more stuff that can happen.

Recommend reading the first post for the basic lore of the world.

In short, the first civilization known as the Arcadians or Precursors by the modern races was destroyed long ago but ruins and a floating city known as Pandora remained. Hidden within it was the Omni-Gem a crystal that acts as a balancing source to the world of Arcadia.

Aya my character was a guardian chosen to protect it until Captain White Beard stole it and sent Aya falling to the world below. There she met the others over their travels to White Beard's fortress in Skull Cove. However he was being used by two Arcadians known as Doll and Mask Master who worked with Albertus (Wily's character) to break the seal on the Omni-Gem.

Doll Master was killed in the assault on the city but the heros were unable to stop the villians from breaking the seal and releasing Mar, the Arcadian who was responsible for destroying his people and empire when he attempted to enter the heart of Arcadia known as the Heart of Choas and become a god, Mar was defeated by Aya in the distance past and the gods sealed him away in the Gem. The group were forced to retreat in the wake of the battle as Mask Master had extracted the goddess Reva from Aya and she was no match for Mar in her basic state.

In short the Omni-Gem was shattered into five fragments that went flying to different corners of the world, chaos rifts are opening because of that and corrupting any life it comes into contact with and Mar is still plotting to reach the Heart of Chaos to finish becoming a god.

As of now--

White Beard is likely dead, sent flying off the tower by Mar

Doll Master was killed by Riagan (PB's character)

Mask Master is still at large working as Mar's right hand.

Albertus is still at Large working for Mar but plotting his own plots.

Mar the big baddie of the whole story. A demi god like being who in the distant past gave up his mortal body and possessed the Guardian known as Rei (Aya's brother) to become mortal and survive in the Heart of Chaos.

Huh, I thought it was 6.

I see. I'm guessing these chaos rifts are a bad thing to fall into, right?

[Sakura Leic]

Think of them more as a mass of concentrated mana rather than holes.

[Sapphire Knight]

Ah. Daemons might congregate around them, then, because mana and magic (assuming they're two different things) are what daemons get nourishment from.

And since I'm getting Sapph into this (assuming I can figure out how), I should get Obsidian involved somehow.

Eh we don't really have bad guys besides Wily and Blue's bad guy characters.

And maybe other factions of the Order.

Maybe.

If I feel like expanding that group some more and going into their mythology.

Though they wouldn't be working with Albertus and Mar if you do decide to do it, right?

[Quickman]

No, they're an entirely separate entity.  They'll show up mostly in towns under their control.

[Sakura Leic]

That sounds like fun.  Would they be just as racist as the the Iron Gate branch?

Let's see... Obsidian has the unfortunate destiny of constantly being reborn to fight each Sapphire Knight. So he's probably got his own cult of soldiers lurking about for each time he rises.

I wonder what kind of snark Sakura would say about him, this Sakura is way more snarky than Pokemon Trainer Sakura, who was more bipolar and misanthropic if anything.

I attribute this to being a teenager being a teenager, for once, and maybe a mild case of being raised by dudes, ie Calien, instead of Lucarios.  Not to mention she's more sure of herself unlike Prime Sakura who has a few insecurities, again probably because her father is alive.

EDIT: Oh crap I just realized that Obsidian will give both Sakura and Calien more Deja Vu.

That sounds like fun.  Would they be just as racist as the the Iron Gate branch?

Probably not.  Each branch would be handled a bit differently, but the majority of their dogma would be relatively the same.

So only most of them would be racist.

Hmm what would I do tomorrow, I guess I can have Sakura talk to Riagan.  She's kind of wants to ask him some questions like why he really doesn't call anyone by name.

Hmm... I think I can figure an entrance out... Eventually.

Six Shards, my mistake. Chaos Rifts lead to the abyss that exists within and beyond Arcadia.

The gods took the chaos introduced order in the form of the elements and used it to build the world. However the chaos is in a natural state poisonous to all mortal creatures so chaos rifts are tears in the world that allow chaos to seep in. Anything caught in it would be horrifically twisted into a chaos monster. Even being near one for to long can start to poison and twist you, obviously the larger the rift is the worse the effect.

The gods and guardians like Aya are immune to the chaos' effects because they don't have mortal bodies. That is how Mar managed to get around the issue by stealing a Guardian's body and placing his own soul inside the same way the gods use the guardians to interact with the physical world. The more rifts that open at once the more unstable the world becomes, normally the Omni-Gem would prevent natural rifts from forming but people like Mar can use magic to force a rift open and now that the Gem is gone we are going to see natural rifts open across the world until we restore the Gem.
