Hot off the trails of another popular kickstarter, the cool guys and gals at WayForward have started their own in the hopes of funding a brand new adventure for the whimsical, shimmying genie from Seaquin Land.

The current funding amount asked is $400K, but as always everyone who's interested should always "aim big". Those stretch goals look fantastic. So do the right thing guys, support belly dancing, Metroidvanias and WayForward today!

I have to admit, I do question the wisdom of trying to gather funds for a fourth game before the third is out.  Still looks awesome, though.

You pretty much need inhuman response time to get past A Rank. You're a split second off on your timing, and at the speed that's going you can't even afford to be that much off.

I think I'll stick to B or C rank. Its not like A rank wins me any sort of special prize.

Donations are moving slowly. Probably because most people blew their money on MNo9 already.

I gonna have to contact James Montagna again later. He was (and still is) the map/level designer for the Shantae games, responsible for A Boy and his Blob remake, and also created the video trailers for games (with a video capture device), and other design projects. He's in my 3DS friend list.

They made a big mistake following Mighty No. 9 by anything less than 2 months. Everyone's attention is on that right now, and their money too.

Two projects this big cannot compete in the same space. They're basically both highly praised retro revivals. However, against Inafune coming forth with a successor to Megaman? WayForward is simply not going to win that one.

I really hope this does go through though. My friends can tell you I'm a really huge Shantae fan, and it's the only reason I didn't completely regret buying a full priced 3DS after they cancelled Legends 3. Likewise I eagerly await the next one to release on the handheld. I'll be throwing my money at this Kickstarter in hopes it'll somehow, some way, make that goal and then some, but I'm not in a position to really dish out that much right now.

Oh, and, I hear Shantae is getting her tan back thankfully. Glad to see people were vocal about that.
