Oh yeah I remembered hearing that in the Red Ash comments.  Also I like how the first thing I see is He who shall not be named basically just exploding with rage.

Though really how would a Live Action movie work with something a cartoony as MN9.

Hahaha, yeah I was reading that tirade. Good lord.

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

They hadled this issue in such a poor way, on top of the already poorly handled Red Ash kickstarter. Sad for the delay but I rather wait and play a game free of bugs, let's hope they can release it  on Q1  -u-'

Sakura Leic

I don't mind delays but this is really not helping the Comcept [parasitic bomb] storm that keeps getting bigger and bigger.

My thoughts exactly, but jeez, do any those people who are fueling the [parasitic bomb] storm have nothing better to do with their time?

RetroRespecter

I'm afraid not. In fact, most people are like this:

If we assume Comcept isn't lying when they say that their earlier "no delay" claim was made because they hadn't gotten word yet, then it actually sounds like Deep Silver threw Comcept under the bus and told Inafune and company "so... don't panic but there might be a delay..." several days after telling retailers.

Sakura Leic

Even if that's true no one is going to care and are going to point fingers at Inafune and Comcept anyway.

I'm aware.  Just want to point this out on one of the few places that doesn't immediately reach for the pitchforks.  From the looks of it, on Monday the 27th Comcept was still working under the assumption that the release date was in September, and didn't mind telling backers that the game would be out on time.  That was a couple days after rumors had started going around.  Then the middle of last week Comcept clammed up and started going "no comment" when asked.

Assuming that Comcept isn't so stupid they thought they could lie about there being no delay and get away with it, it certainly looks like they got screwed because Deep Silver didn't pass on any word about problems for days.

Fxeni

I'm going to go ahead that Comcept asked for an extension and Deep Silver said no at first. Comcept when along their merry way, probably freaking out a little, but then Deep Silver came around.

Sakura Leic

Well I can at least save some Christmas money for Mighty No. 9, but I still don't know if I want to get the Steam version or wait for the 3DS version.

To be fair I can't think of any kickstarter off the top of my head that wasn't delayed at some point or another--it's rather common. I'll just ignore all the silly drama and wait for the game and judge it on it's own merits.

Sakura Leic

Really I think the main source of drama is the internet being the internet en mass.

I don't know who lied but Amazon changed the date as soon as July, 22. So by that time they already got the news of the delay, the "no delay" answer came after.

If they lied, probably was forced by how bad the Red Ash KS was doing.

That doesn't parse.  By all accounts Comcept's role is done.  They were mainly "idea men," with Inti doing most of the real coding.  I don't buy that Inti just "needed more time" for ambiguous reasons.  What we've been told is that the problem is with the internet content.  It makes no sense that Inti and Comcept would have been going "everything's fine!" for this long if there was actually a big chunk of code still to be done.  Inti certainly wouldn't have been taking on so much more work.  On the other hand, I can see a problem with the co-op mode going undetected.  Now if we're talking about a serious problem with the network capabilities then they not only have to fix the problem and test it, they've got to get approval from all the companies whose consoles the game will be on.  For every single last console.

And comcept just had to try to get MN9 on every console under the sun.

I could be wrong, but that's the way it looks to me.  Inti found a problem and told Deep Silver, but nobody told Comcept until after Comcept made themselves look bad saying things were fine.

Now why they don't just release the basic game without all that internet frou-frou is a question worth asking them.

Probably because $4,000,000 USD told them to add internet frou-frou from the get-go.

I'm saying this as someone who works at a gaming company. This is normal. Stupid, yes, but normal.

Sakura Leic

Okay so there's going to be a Backer exclusive trial version of MN9 coming your guy's way.  It will have 4 stages with all the cut scenes and everything.  You'll also get a free Steam code for Mighty Gunvolt as well, though really if you're buying Azure Striker Gunvolt in the first month this would probably not really matter to much.  The Trial version will be distributed on the 15th of September.

I'm looking forward to trying it, I'm sure my laptop can run it since I can run Skyrim at  a decent setting XD

Sakura Leic

Yeah if it can run Skyrim this should be no problem, I wouldn't think it would take much to run the game 3D graphics or no.
