Nah they had this in mind even before the game was announced, they just revealed she was a girl but she's always been a girl. 

In fact the original concept art had her as a finger skater but they felt it wasn't combat oriented enough. 

Now that they know #2 is a girl, they'll be lots more drawings of her.

I can already hear the sempai and tsundere baka jokes already....

Looking hella solid. Certainly no mistake backing them. That's the stuff we paid to see. Worth every penny.

I actually threw $25 at that Timespinner game they recommended. Looked like a lot of fun.

That's because it is a cash grab. No need to defend them.

I don't think so. They're selling preorders, which lots of companies do. If you buy the preorder with instructional manual and stuff, they said they'll use that money for new stretch goals. I've never heard of a company using preorder sales to fund more game content. That should have been good PR.

But they explained what they were doing so badly it's incredible.

And they have no options for existing backers to give just a little money. You either buy the game and digital rewards all over again, for a higher price than before, or nothing. And the storefront isn't set up so it's immediately clear which items for sale go toward the stretchgoal.

And voice acting was never going to have much appeal to Mega Man fans. I don't understand why they picked that as the first new goal when there are so many other things fans were asking for. The Call vote was almost split 50/50, wouldn't they get more support if they offered to do something with the second-place winner?

I think they planted the seed of a good idea in a pot of quick-drying cement, and watered it with acid. But I'm hoping they'll come to their senses and add another goal at a lower price, and give some better options for people that already backed. If it's not too late.

What they should do is just focus on the game right now and not worry about adding anything else. From the gameplay beta footage I've watched so far it's looking like a really good game that has a lot of potential. If it does well enough to warrant a sequel then they can worry about all the extra stuff for that game.

It's neat, though I never really saw an appeal in the design of the Xel things personally.

Yaiba x MN9 was acceptable, MN9 animation was pushing it, but now 8-bit Mighty Gunvolt? Sorry for being a negative nancy but

Getting your product out there is smart though, the more people hear about it the greater chance potential customers may pick it up so I'm not really sure what you are negative about. *shrugs*

Yeah look at how well God Eater did, especially since it came out at the same time at Dissidia 012 and the fact the sequel is not out in America.  Also keep in mind it was supposed to compete with Monster Hunter.

The more people know about it the more people with buy it, it's basic marketing 101.

Mighty Gunvolt is free though. I could see the milking argument if they were charging full price for it, but it's just a fun little side game meant to bring together comcept characters. It's basically the "Mega Man a" of both Mighty No. 9 and Gunvolt, a fun little retro diversion to enjoy.

I think we all have to pay for Gunvolt, whether or not we backed Mighty No. 9.

Mighty Gunvolt is a free perk that comes with purchase of that.
