Just to clarify, Flame, that is actually the retail price for us folks here in Australia.

AUD $599 for the console, and speculative game price point of AUD $118.

as another Australian told me once, it would be cheaper for him to fly to California, buy Photoshop here in the US, and fly back than it would be to buy it down there.

Yeah, and Adobe may take you to court for corporate damages if you're using a product bought in another region. And Autodesk definitely will, with their owning both industry-level modelling software packages 3DSMax and Maya.

Back on the games front, the PS4 is being listed for $500, too. PS4 is still more appealing at this moment in time, even though Sony are doing twice the markup here that Microsoft are doing. But aside from that, there actually was an inquest into the "Australia Tax" that a lot of companies seems to do despite the current parity in the dollar (eg. Apple charging 1-29 for 99c tracks).

I'll never understand why Australia has such issues with import products. I mean, I know everything down there is already trying to kill you, but it seems like everyone ELSE outside of Australia is too. (wallet wise anyway)
